It is absolutely correct not to get you knickers in a twist over picks at this point or even immediately after the draft. Nobody will know for sure about this draft for three seasons. At 30, the best thing is simply to draft the best player available, whether WR, S, LB or OL. The Chargers won 14 games last year and McCardell wasn't that much of a factor. Even if Turner isn't traded to move us up, I would be willing to bet that there are teams out there who would part with a quality starter at one of our need positions and a high draft choice to get there mits on Michael after the fact. Judging from past history, there are some coaches and GM's out there who will do some really irrational things in the first round come draft day. Even more irrational things are sure to happen in the second and third rounds. We have no glaring needs this year. We are gilding the lily. Grab a bottle of bubbly for a champaigne breakfast and enjoy the ride.
Late to the party I'd love to see us grab Meachem. IMO, he's the best WR in the draft besides CJ. It's very doubtful he'll make it to 30 with the way his stock has been rising.
