Chargers Sign Remmers, Place Harris on IR
The San Diego Chargers made a handful of moves on Wednesday.

The San Diego Chargers made a number of transactions today, signing guard-tackle Mike Remmers off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad while placing tackle Mike Harris on the Reserve-Injured list with an ankle injury.

The team also added running back Kerwynn Williams, previously with the Colts, to the practice squad and released running back Mike Maysonet.

The 6-5, 303-pound Remmers originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in May. He attended training camp with the Broncos and appeared in one preseason game before being waived on August 27. The 23-year old then joined Tampa Bay’s practice squad on September 10.. Originally a walk-on at Oregon State, Remmers quickly ascended to starter status. He started 44 games during his four years with the Beavers, including 37 in a row to finish his collegiate career. Remmers was a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy as a senior, an award given each season to the nation's top player who began his career as a walk-on.

Harris injured his ankle during last Sunday’s game in Oakland. The second-year tackle started the last three games, including Week 3 at right tackle and Weeks 4-5 at left tackle.

Williams was initially the Colts seventh-round selection (230th overall) in the 2013 NFL draft out of Utah State. He appeared in one game this season, returning one kickoff for 28 yards. He was released from the Colts’ practice squad on Tuesday.

One might argue that they are indeed getting too many breaks.

Tough break for Mike Harris. He went from being written off before the season started to making the team and actually playing well off the bench for us. Here's to hoping that Remmers can come in and make an impact.

Gee, Harris was really coming along fine in his play and may have been an answer for the long haul.

Why am I not surprised by this? Feel real bad for Harris, he was the worst LT last season, he worked his *** off this offseason and was having a real good year, would of helped for 2014 for him to continue to have playing time and become a better player, but things happen.

Unfortunately for us, its time for players to step up. "Next man up" mentality. Good teams overcome injuries, we'll see what this team is about MNF, injuries and a bad loss to a divisional opponent. While Indy comes to town ready to handle business, they've had some exhausting games against San Francisco and Seattle they pulled off as wins.

Becton didn't look too bad vs. Oakland, but he also came into the game late, against a tired Raiders D, while he was fresh. King Dunlap has been working out, running, lifting, etc. I just hope he practices today. That's some concussion he must of took to be out 3 games.

I find it v odd that we go get a guy from another PS and (by rule) bring him into our 53 when we have a T on our own PS who must be ahead in terms of playbook etc?

I concur with most above ref Harris. He looks like a great backup T now, esp backup to Fluker on right side. It is LT where we're gonna struggle if King does not get back asap.

Did Remmers play LT in college anyone know?

So Dunlap returns to practice, Fluker misses practice.

I'd think they'd play Dulnap, Troutman, Hardwick, Clary, and Schilling as the OL Monday night if Fluker can't go. Can't see Becton or Remmers playing RT. I would do everything in my power not to move Clary to RT too.

So if Fluker can't go we're talking about playing Schilling at RT?, a guy who has been cut more times than I've had hot dinners and seemingly has only played G when he has been around long enough to get some game time. No way Jose, Clary should move to RT even with the known limitations and play Schilling or Ohrnberger at RG. Dunlap and Troutman to the left thank you.

If you watched Schilling play the last 2 years he's actually been stout. He has been cut twice the last 2 years as a last round pre-season cut. He can play 2 interior positions but some pundits think he has quick enough feet to move to OT if needed. He played well against Dallas at RG.

I would take my chances on Clary at RG than RT. Clary is straight up terrible, and if you want Rivers looking the way he did last year on MNF, then Schilling would be the best option at RT at the moment. Has quicker feet to mirror the pass rusher. Especially if that guy is Mathis.
