My PC speakers stopped working suddenly. They are turned on but no sound... I was removing some programs today because my son had put a bunch of programs on my PC and it was running like ****... Now it's running great but the speakers aren't working.... While I wait for any answer from you guys, I'll continue to try to figure this out on my own... :icon_shrug:
I'm a geek! Right click on My Computer and click Properties Click the Hardware tab Click the Device Manager button Check and see if you have any Unknown Devices which would be grouped under a yellow question mark. If you don't see something I think I'll need a bunch more info. If you do see a device with a question mark double click on it and click the Driver tab. Click Update Driver and then click next a few times... just make sure that you allow it to connect to the internet to search for the device. This is just one of many possible solutions, but it's worth a try.

Well, everyone's a comedian... :icon_eek: :icon_mrgreen: OK. IAD, I'm going to start with your suggestion...
Carrie, have you tried going to your Computers manufacture's website. Sometimes they have a section for downloads and updates, check around in there you might be able to find your audio driver in there somwhere.
You guys like that big wood? :icon_eek: :icon_rofl: Oh, Dell helped me... Let there be sound again... :flag:
see who makes your sound card and you can install the drivers off the internet. Usually a google search is all it takes.
Oh man, the Dell support website is set up for computer dummies like me. I listed some info off the back of my PC and was directed to a link that let me download the audio. Couldn't have been easier. Thanks for your help h8ter.
