With Floyd there at 18 I see the Chargers making a trade with Cleveland moving back to the 22nd spot and up to the 37th in the 2nd round. If not I see a trade up with Minnesota in the 2nd and having to give up our 3rd but gaining and extra 4th but thats for another time 1st Round 22nd pick; Nick Perry: The Chargers get a Pass Rusher to come in on passing plays and also develop over time to be an every down OLB. 2nd Round 37th Pick; Harrison Smith: AJ gets his Guy, Weddle gets his new B.F.F. to share head bands with on the side line and we get a solid SS to help cover tight ends on passing plays and help make tackles on running plays 3rd Round 78th pick; Mitchell Schwartz: If he should be available the Chargers are going to grab him, he is a Smart versatile player has experience at both Left and Right Tackle. Will give compete with Clary and most likely take his job early to mid season, if not he will be a solid back up 4th Round 110th pick; Jaye Howard: Has ability to provide depth at NT and DE which are 2 needs still so why not save a roster spot for a guy with ability to play both 5th Round 149th pick; Terrance Ganaway: Big Bodied power back 6 ft 240 lbs, North and South runner not your Tolbert type dance around and get no yards type of guy, Looks a lot like Steelers RB Isaac Redman can be a good compliment to Mathews for short yardage situations 6th Round 183rd pick; Donnie Fletcher: Will be one of the 1st players not invited to the Pro day selected and could be a steal if the Chargers are able to get him 6'1" 195 lbs. recorded 4.38-4.4 in his 4o yard dash in 2011 he had 35 tackles 5 pass break up, and 2 INT's at Boston College 7th Round 226th pick; Nicolas Jean-Baptiste; Odds are he may not make the 53 man roster but with his size and strength he may make it to the practice squad where our coaches may be able to develop this monster into a solid nose tackle 7th Round 250th pick; Derrek Dennis whats the worste that could happen adding guard depth this late?..............he could be a solid back up
Okay the trade is not even close to worth it. Moving up 11 spots in the 2nd round? Not worth the risk for us at all. We should at least get an extra 4th round pick on top of the moving up in the 2nd, more likely a 3rd.
I like Michael Floyd too, but would be pissed if we drafted him after spending all that dough on Meachem and Royal. Probably a smoke screen.
Its a clean swap, they move up in the first round, we moved up in the 2nd to grab Smith. I figure their move up in the first equals our move up in the 2nd based off the point chart wise 900 - 780 and 530 - 410
