When the got his I was like "ehhh... At least it aint Lovie or some other re-tread" Then I heard about how during his interview process, which happened the day after the Broncos playoff loss, that he had a good vision for what he wanted to do, and where he thought he could get this team. I was like "OK... He knew enough of the team to have a good vision on how to improve it." Then he started assembling his coaching staff. There are a lot of experienced coaches who have won the Super Bowl. Winning is a mind set, one I think this staff will have. I was like "Wow... I am liking this, but is it too early to get all giddy?" Then I heard him speak in an interview they had on NFL mobile the other day. He was articulate, serious, and knew what he wanted to accomplish. Sometimes you hear a coach speak and you get a sense that they have confidence in what they are saying and they can instill that confidence in the players. That is the vibe I got from McCoy. I have high hopes for this guy. Much better than the gnashing of teeth and beeotching I did when we hired the last coach. Lets hope he lives up to the expectations I am starting to have for him.
I remember 9ers fans felt the same about Singletary before the season started. Control your man crush.
True. But if worse comes to worst, and we revert back to the bad ol' 4-12 days, we can place our tons and tons of Charger paraphernalia on the floor, lie on it on our backs, and make "Gear Angels"
Obviously no one knew that Singletary had a problem keeping his pants on during halftime. I wonder if Deano asked that question in the interview process... "So tell me Mike, Do you prefer to keep your pants on or off during your halftime speeches?"
