Looking at the remaining schedule, I can not see getting more than maybe 4-5 wins out of whats left. And that puts us in the 7-9, 8-8. I think Manning will have a big day(s) against Cason. VJ might come up big. Baltimore is going to walk all over the Chargers. Cincinnati has a pretty good passing attack. Steelers depending on who is out for that game. Carolina Cam might have 1 last fight in him of the season.Mon 10/15Denver BroncosDenver 8:30 pmByeSun 10/28Cleveland Brownsat Cleveland 1:00 pm Thu 11/1Kansas City ChiefsKansas City 8:20 pm Sun 11/11Tampa Bay Buccaneersat Tampa Bay 1:00 pm Sun 11/18Denver Broncosat Denver 4:25 pm Sun 11/25Baltimore RavensBaltimore 4:05 pm Sun 12/2Cincinnati BengalsCincinnati 4:25 pm Sun 12/9Pittsburgh Steelersat Pittsburgh 1:00 pm Sun 12/16Carolina PanthersCarolina 4:05 pm Sun 12/23New York Jetsat NY Jets 8:20 pm Sun 12/30Oakland RaidersOakland 4:25 pm
The slimmest of margins separates a 16-0 team from an 8-8 team in this league. If we're 8-8, at least we won't be seeing the Norv next season.
I had my meltdown when Mathews fumbled against ATL. At this point, any further meltdowns are unlikely to result in an aneurysm for me.
I'd suggest saving any life-threatening health events for something more worthwhile. Maybe some of you should consider switching to "Honey Boo-Boo" for entertainment.
every year like clock work Norv takes this team to the pits. Slow starts and long runs, but last year fast start and a losing streak. Predictable, predictable predictable.
Oh woe is me, we will not win another game this season... Where is the closest bridge... WAIT! There is an answer, slink back into your world of Madden Football where everything is assured.
We will beat Denver at home, and hopefully Cleveland away. It's all about stopping TRich in Cleveland. So no, this isn't the annual meltdown. When were at Tampa, Denver come home to play the Ravens and Bengals and go back out east to face the Steelers is my only fear we get on a 5 game skid.
4-2 going into the break is gonna be WORLDS better than 3-3. Gotta suck it up and rebound w/ a nice smack to the Donkeys this week.
Agree, this game is huge for the long term. Then we come off the bye and get to face KC, CLE and Tampa. We have a real chance to separate, it's just a shame we squandered this New Orleans game, a winnable road game.
This is how an extreme pessimist might look at it. How bout we just watch the games and see what happens instead of worrying about worst case scenarios?
This Monday is huge. It's the difference between 3-3 tied in 1st place and 4-2 still in first place and up 3-0 in the division.
BTW Acee says we are 0-9 since 2009 in 4th quarter comebacks. Not sure if he means when we're down at the start of the 4th or 2 minute drills.
Not sure where he gets his info from either, since I can point out at least one game from 2010 where we were trailing, and won it in the 4th quarter. I guess it all depends on how Acee interprets "4th quarter comebacks". Then again, Acee is fairly negative towards the Chargers in replies to tweets and what not, so would not surprise me at all if its more a case of just trying to continue the negativity. Yeah, if your criteria is a very ambiguous term like "4th quarter comebacks" it's very easy to skew the data to fit the end result you're looking for.
ok your right. Lets shut down this website along with every other sports forum. No reason to post anything or talk sports according to HollywoodLeo..
I'm re-reading my post and I'm trying to figure out where I said we shouldn't discuss anything. Can you help me find it?
this is probably the biggest knock I have of Norv as Norv has stated that he does not practice the 2 minute drill nor the redzone drills. Ya think this has something to do with FGs instead of getting TD?
Wait, I'll beat you to it. I'm guessing you're misinterpreting this part. "...How bout we just watch the games and see what happens..." Because my point painfully obviously wasn't that it's pointless to stress over worst case scenarios just because you want to be pessimistic. Couldn't be that. So you have a point. Let's shut down the forums.
That show made me seriously consider going vegan. Not because the show has anything remotely to do with veganism... well... OK, so maybe because veganism seems to be the polar opposite of anything having to do with that show (which is exactly what I want my life to be).
HEXEDBOLT with a positive, affirming comment?! Close the thread. We're through here. Award this man one half the internets. No reason to continue this discussion. And I'm not kidding. If we've somehow won this man over then, by God, we have proof that the negative Nancy's can in fact be won over. Welcome to the Dark Side, HB! We'll get you fixed up with those cool yellow contacts that make you look all jaundiced and shiz soon. rickochey, you're next! We're converting you next!
Hexed isn't negative. He just wants to see a tough, aggressive, take-no-frigging-prisoners defense. So do I. And, like him, I think we have a core group to get us there.
Isnt that what we all want? The last time we had a #1 defense, we had Ryan at QB and we all know how well that went.
My preference is the defensive side of the ball. All the excitement of the high powered, high flying electrifying offense is great and fun to watch. I just happen to be a fan of great defense, one that would tackle their own grandmother if she was carrying the ball. Through 40 plus years as a fan this team has never truly been a defensive juggernaut and Pag's is going to be the man to change it if given the chance. Chuck Noll and John Madden are names of men that should have been promoted within this organization but were allowed to leave and win Lombardi's elsewhere. There are others that have done the same thing through this team and I am damned tired of them slipping through those cracks. I know people hate Norv but I am one who believes he finally has gotten most of the pieces in place to make that run, I just hope he gets the time necessary to complete it.
Man crystal balls must be cheap these days. I don't think there are many pundits out there that would say the Chargers have 9 wins or 9 losses out there, too much is up in the air, our injuries, other teams, teams coming out of slumps or going into them. They are all potentially winnable and loseable....but the only one that matters is Monday. Then after that, it doesn't matter anymore. But just for fun...(my crystal ball was 99 cents at Kobys) Denver 27 San Diego 21 (Bye) San Diego 31 Clevland 17 San Diego 34 KC 10 San Diego 24- Tampa Bay 21 Denver 17-San Diego 14 San Diego 21 Baltimore 17 Pittsburgh 17 San Diego 7 San Diego 31 Carolina 20 New York 24 San Diego 13 San Diego 31 Oakland 13 At 4 more losses that's 10-6, prediction that Denver wins the West and we get in as WC. I see Matthews and V Brown coming back and having big second halves of the season, everyone getting healthy over the bye and having a mini run over a relatively easy 3 games, and then losing the east coast games predicted, and taking care of Baltimore at home.
