After talks between the Chargers and second-round draft pick Vincent Jackson came to a standstill on Tuesday, the Bolts announced today that the two sides had reached an agreement on a five-year contract. Jackson will be at Charger Park when the Bolts begin their full-squad workouts on Friday.

"He's a terrific athlete and we're glad to get him here," Smith said. "We wanted to give Vincent a deal that was fair for him and fair for us. We're pleased that we were able to do that."

The Chargers selected the 6-5, 241 pound Jackson with the 61st overall pick in April's draft. During his illustrious career at Division I-AA Northern Colorado, Jackson re-wrote school record books. He finished with 177 receptions for 3,548 yards (20.0 average) and 37 touchdowns to become the program's all-time leader in each category.

Now that the Bolts have agreed to terms with Jackson, linebacker/defensive end Shawne Merriman, the 12th overall pick, remains the only draft pick out of camp.
