http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...t-going-to-Washington-Steeler-?urn=nfl,163886 Wow. I can't stand this guy.
Funny stuff. Okay, so Harrison isn't Albert Einstein... no one said you have to make any sense to play football.
He can do it and at least its not some big political or religious blow up but yeah dude, every single winning team goes to the white house. What an idiot
This seems like a lame reason not to go. I understand if he would have policy issues with Bush II, or Obama to not attend, or if he had honestly just felt it was not something he wanted to participate in, personal issues or not. But stating the President would've invited AZ had they won, so therefore, he is not interested in the Steelers per se, well no chit, it is tradition to invite the winning SB team. Sounds like a little kid, must have abandonment issues or something. Fouts
Worst reason ever. God I love reading about stupid athletes and all the laughter they bring into my life. As much as I hated W., if he invited me to the White House, I would go, simply outta gratitude for the invite and an opportunity to meet the POTUS. Show some respect Harrison, you ungrateful fuk.
He also wouldn't be getting that SB ring of his if the Steelers didn't win the SB, maybe he should return that too.
Why hate the guy? I agree that it's stupid but if you ask me, it's also his loss. When will he get another chance to enter the White House? He hasn't said anything bad about Obama or even if his reason for declining the invite has anything to do with Obama being president. I think he's made a poor decision but that's no reason to hate the guy.
I don't think it has anything to do with Obama, he didn't show up when Bush invited the Steelers after their SB win a few years back. Maybe he hates the White House, or he's really just stupid. I don't care who the president is, even if I disagree with what they've done if I got invited I'd go. That's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Probably because he didn't have some idiotic reason for it back then. :icon_shrug: Honestly I have no idea it was a few years back, and it's not like this **** is important enough to remember.
It's not important now either. Though apparently some people would like it to be. Though there is something that puzzles me even more... I wonder why CNN, NBC, and anybody else (besides FOX NEWS) didn't jump all over it back in 2005. I guess there wasn't enough knowledge about it... cause they would have referred to him as a "True Patriot."
From what I've seen they've been bagging him for the comment more than not showing up. Obviously if you do it quietly it'll be less newsworthy than making some idiotic reasoning to not show up. I doubt anyone would have said anything if he just didn't show, and didn't say anything about it. Players don't go all the time and they have their reasons, some just don't care and would rather do something else (MJ). It's not important now either, just shows how stupid he is.
And how stupid this entire topic is. BOTTOM LINE... Some people want to make it into something that matters but they can't figure out how. Right now... CNN, NBC, and the rest of the mainstream media (with the exception of FOX NEWS) are sitting around, smacking their foreheads and saying "if only Harrison's skin color were white!!!" You know what direction they would go with that and it would make major headlines for weeks!!! AND THAT'S THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH!!!
It's "important" to some because it's a black man (who was the leader of the best defense in the NFL) refusing to visit the black man who is the leader of the free world. Last time people probably assumed it was a black man who didn't want to go see the evil white man who was the leader of the free world. No one questioned it. They wanted a reason this time... and he gave 'em one. Turns out he's just a football player who doesn't like the WHITE HOUSE. No big deal.
exactly. There are a lot of people talking bad about him right now. Would any of those people want him to play for the Chargers?
The Jew-run Leftist Media Taliban Illuminati didn't think it was important back then. I think you should go on hunger strike.
The left side hates him today. If you're white and don't like Obama, you're racist. If you're black and don't love Obama, you're Uncle Tom. That's EXACTLY what the left side is pushing for!!!
