I'm still failing to see this as a case of Jammer not leaving on good terms.

Just because somebody signs elsewhere doesn't mean they left on bad terms, it just means they left.

And the history of EVERY team in the league is not good with players staying with the same team from draft to retirement, especially in today's game of free agency.

I'm genuinely not sure I understand your point.

Are you saying that the Chargers secretly wanted to keep Jammer,
despite months of openly acting virtually 100% to the contrary?

Players who left the bolts on bad terms is more on the fact that they had a gripe with AJ. LT publicly stated the only way he would retire a bolt is if AJ wasn't there. I believe many of the other players felt the same. Many have also made a point to mention how excited the are to have Telesco here and were really surprised how personal he was with them something they never had before.

I highly doubt the organization would have #21 labeled as untouchable if there was beef with LT and the Spanos family.

I'm not remembering him stating his friction with AJ so emphatically.
    Even at his most emotional.
Even when he was oddly critiquing Rivers' mediocre play.
    Even when Gates said
“Sometimes you would get the sense that people felt bigger than the
    team”
    about LT...
There was a real awkward time there, for awhile after AJ had to tell LT he wasn't our RB anymore)
(It took months 'til LT realized that no, no other team was going to let him start, as the Chargers had in '09).

LT was upset...and some of that was directed at AJ...but he still said "no hard feelings," etc.
So, if he actually really "publicly stated the only way he would retire a bolt is if AJ wasn't there"
then I'm mis-remembering, and would appreciate a link.

(and if LT didn't say that, would "the other players felt the same" still stand?)

I haven't seen any evidence of hard feelings coming from Jammer. To me, it looks like he went to the team that wanted him, offered a sensible amount of money, and gives him a strong chance of winning the chip. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well, that's exactly what I'm saying:
The harshest comment LT ever made was "It’s hard for me"...
which is, of course, far short of
"LT publicly stated the only way he would retire a bolt is if AJ wasn't there."

My post was that this portrayal of what LT actually said was more "emphatic"
than LT's strongest statement. And I think this confirms what I was saying.

Add to that LT's numerous mitigating comments about "no hard feelings,"
and, even more important, that LT DID choose to retire as a Charger while
AJ was here (which would've made him a liar if he'd really said he wouldn't)
and you can understand my issue with this new 'history.'

Obviously, piling on AJ now that he's gone, and saying things that--if true--
denigrate him is commonplace...I just think that we ought stick to
attacks that match the actual history.

All I was saying is that from cradle to grave the Bolts don't seem to have a lot of happy campers. It was nice to see Jammer be able to leave W/O all the senseless B/S is all, Good God!

You never clarified that last part so it came off as though you were including Jammer as another example, as opposed to being happy that he's an exception.

In fact, it came off as quite the opposite when you said "If Jammer is the prototype of the new and improved Bolts player relations then I'd say they still have a long ways to go."

But, nevertheless, if that's what you meant (glad he's an exception) then I get what you're saying. I'm just explaining my responses to you here.
