This is one hell of a man, I've never heard him complain or take a second off that wasn't forced on him. How fortunate the Chargers are, finally got some dudes that care for more than just the bucks. :abq2::tup:

Good man. Glade to have him at a less inflated price tag. Still not a sure thing he gets a spot if Mike Harris or Troutman have good preseasons.

Good news. Now the Boltz have some spare dough for player upgrades/injuries.

Surely this was a case of take the pay cut and the team will guarantee it or Jeromey take your chances on making the team to get the big money (no chance that was going to happen). Having said that it's now a win win... even if we do cut him now we still pocket that cap difference. I say he barely makes it as a backup now. Looks like Watt is front runner for that RG position.

Nice to finally have a real GM and HC. This year may not be our SB push, but I think they're ahead of schedule on digging out of the hole AJ and Norv dug for the team. Not hard to envision TT and MM shaping the Boltz into a perennial powerhouse.

You don't think MM had anything to do with how our team improved last year? With what Norv/AJ left him I think he has convinced me so far.

It was a shaky start, but the revival of Rivers and the ability to go on the road and win a playoff game against a team that I honestly thought had more talent than us was impressive.

I also am a big fan of how our offense changes from hurry up 4 WR sets, to slow 2 TE pound the rock, to hurry up an wait while Rivers moves everyone around etc...on a series to series basis, if not play by play.

Still, let's not lose to the Raiders again.

It's tough to change the culture of an established NFL team who under a regime (AJ & Norv) won a lot of games. McCoy and Telesco came in here and did that. Now, it wasn't the prettiest of seasons in terms of wins and loses, but it's the NFL, and as long as you get to the post-season you have a chance. That's exactly what they did, despite all the injuries they suffered throughout the year.

I give MM & TT a whole lot of credit for doing a 360 on this team. The fact the offense did what they did in 2014 compared to 2013 was quite amazing, and also reviving Rivers and establishing a running game.

This season looks even more promising.. I can't wait!

I will say it was impressive how the team rebounded from the mess Norv/AJ left but it will be interesting to see how the loss of Whiz impacts. MM has to lose some of the conservatism too, if he does that and things continue to improve consider me sold. Until then I'm on the fence.

I just hope MM has a bit more faith in Mathews in the red zone this year. I feel like we could have won that Redskins game had we let Mathews power it up the middle. When Mathews has a running start from the backfield it seems that most of the time he will get a few yards with that mix of power and speed.

That "conservatism" got us to the playoffs and won a game on the road in which the team we played was 8-0 at home during the regular season..

I'd make the argument that less conservatism would have seen us make the playoffs on our own steam instead of relying on other teams to suck completely. See us v Redskins game for starters.

I think everyone agrees there were multiple games in which we were "conservative" during the regular season. But, in the playoffs I didn't think we were overly conservative. In Denver, the gameplan was to establish a run game. And I don't put that all on Mike McCoy when that failed miserably. At the end of the day, Ken Whisenhunt was the OC and he wasn't brought here to be an unproven head coach's (Mike McCoy) puppet all season.

Hence why I said above that it will be interesting to see how Whiz being gone changes things. By all accounts Reich is much more of a risk taker... I look forward to us being the aggressor and especially not punting as often from the opponents 36.

I saw the BFTB video, where Gennaro said that he didn't think it was a coincidence that Clary's reduced salary equals what his old salary would be for 6 games played. His assumption, is that Clary will start the season the PUP like Ingram did last year, and then get activated in the middle of the season. Therefore, he'll be ready to play again when there's about 6 games left to the regular season.

I wouldn't mind that.. I guess he's really being shelved. Bad time for him in a contract year.

Let's hope Reich isn't a puppet (Don't think McCoy works that way anyway). More weapons in this offense opposed to last year as well. Hopefully we can protect as well as we did last year, then you add in more production from Malcolm Floyd, Tevin Reese, Ladarius Green and Donald Brown as well, this offense could very well be top-5 again.

Fortunately, our offense doesn't require great pass blocking like Norv's did. All that's required is for our lineman to get in front of their guy and slow him down. As long as they don't let a guy through untouched, Rivers will have a chance to get the ball out. It's no mystery why Rivers was hit like a piƱata the prior two seasons in Norv's offense.... the line quality deteriorated.
