To be fair he did give Den a great draft and did pretty well with Orton for a while. Still I can't imagine him even liking the chargers. Remember the mon night game?
????????????????? He had 5 picks in rounds 1 and 2 in 2009, 3 of those guys are gone and the other 2 are backups. He did a bit better in 2010 hitting 3/5 1st-3rd round picks, so maybe he knows a good WR when he sees one but not much else. A 30% success rate in rounds 1-3 will tank the Chargers (see Smith, AJ). As far as Orton and how well they did: they were good for half a season then collapsed. Also he tried to bring Cassell in. What does that tell you about his ability to assess talent? Nightmare scenario for Chargers. Which means he's probably Dean's man.
I was super annoyed at this and my friend whos a broncos fan explained it perfectly. As a coach, he's perfectly fine. As a personal guy, he's among the worst in the league. If he gets an awesome personal man as an OC and or something like that, he really isn't the worst option, but those two are essential for him as a coach.
I honestly, 100% would prefer Norv to McDouchebag. They're probably about equal as coaches, but at least Norv isn't a gigantic jerk. I don't want a failed head coach coming here for another shot, I want someone who knows what he is doing.
I would prefer McDouche to Norv but that's like saying I'd prefer food poisoning and a stomach flu to having my intestines destroyed by a flesh eating work
There once was this coach who spent 5 seasons with the Browns and had a winning record only once in those 5 seasons. He went on to have some success in New England. True story. * - Disclaimer: This is in no way meant to suggest McDaniels is my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc choice.
While we're thinkin crazy, lets go ahead and throw Todd Haleys HC hat into the ring. PLZ no McDbag. I just want this guy to leave the NFL forever, cant we all help him to acheive his real dream of not ever trying ANYTHING remotely close to a NFL career?? He really sucks btw.
I wouldn't say he really sucks in the NFL. He was the offensive coordinator for the 2007 record breaking offense for New England, and has again made that offense practically unstoppable. Thus far his track record as a head coach sucks, but with one (short) chance on his record it's yet to be seen whether he's another Norval/Wade Phillips type who is best as a coordinator or if he's another Bellichick type who just didn't do too hot in his first go-around. And, no, I do not want to be the team that tries to find out, but I wouldn't jump off the Coronado bridge if they hire him either. edit: And before anybody states the obvious, I realize he's working with Tom Brady. But so was other offensive coordinators who didn't take that offense to quite the same levels as he has. (Still good....but they were also working with Tom Brady)
4 more years of Norv over 1 year of McAssMunch! Remember when he came down and talk **** to Shaun Phillips and the LB's and they basically ****** his day up from the first kickoff?
Belichick was building a good team in Cleveland, but when Modell announced the move, the team fell apart. McD tore the Broncos apart all by himself.
That sounds like excuses to me. Bellichick had 4 losing seasons in Cleveland and one winning seasons. And that winning season was not his last year there. It's easy to say after the fact knowing now what we know about Bellichick that it likely wasn't his fault, but I'd venture to guess nobody here would have wanted him before he left for New England.
Check what happens to the Chargers if the Spanos bros announce a move to LA (or wherever). Tough for teams to play under those conditions. Players for the Browns said as much after that season. Also the Browns were 3-13 before Belichick arrived. The Donks were 8-8. McD had a lot more to work with and he tore the team down. Belichick improved the Browns. I'm no Belichick fan, but Belichick : Mc D is a poor comparison.
