UTKevinAcee @UTKevinAcee Nate Kaeding will be placed on IR. Chargers required to release him when he's healthy. Figure Kaeding kicking for someone else in few weeks. Corona, others: Rejoice!
I don't have time. I now have to get ready to focus 100% of my attention on Mathews and his fumbling/injury issues.
PS: I will miss your dead on balls accurate regular season kicking, I will not miss your balls kicking in the playoffs nor your short kickoffs even when they moved the ball up 5 yards. Good dude, good teammate, and can wait to piss in the locker room. Good luck to you Nate!
well, wherever he goes, good chance they'll make the Superbowl before the Chargers. Just seems to work that way when a player leaves. But him leaving doesn't break my heart.
Of interesting note, the only player left from AJ's masterpiece trade of Rivers for Manning is Philip Rivers himself. Everyone else is off the team. Wonder if that has any impact to how Spanos reviews AJ's performance at the end of the year
Judging him based on a trade that happened in 2004? No. If that trade happened in the last 3 or 4 years, possibly.
We haven't seen the last of Mr. Bowlcut. I can envision a scenario where he is playing for the Dolphins against the Chargers in a Wild-Card playoff game. He makes the clutch game winning/changing kick. The Curse continues...
Not to difficult to be the best % kicker when your coach doesn't even bother letting you kick 50 yarders. I'm not gonna miss him. At least until he eliminates us from contention, then DAMN AJ TO HELL!
Knowing Kaeding, he'd play for the Dolphins in the AFC championship game, then miss the game winning kick just like his boyhood idol Ray Finkle...
So we wanted the whole team and management fired over the bye-week and THIS is all we freak'n get???!!!
im in the nuetral zone on this one. i niether was pro or anti keading, im glad we had novak available to cover kicking though...good luck to keading where ever he ends up.
Won't miss him one bit.. Question though. Why must we release him when he is healthy?........ can he not stay on IR until next season like most players?
This was always the rule. Its the same thing that happened to Merriman. I'm not sure why we don't just cut him, maybe because it is more difficult to cut an injured player. But basically, it wouldn't be fair to a player who believes they will be back health is 2, 3, or 4 weeks to put them on IR and lose a year of their career. Example: Lets say Ladarius Green had a minor injury that was going to put him on the shelf for 3 weeks. Chargers would LOVE to put him on IR because he is a prospect who isn't contributing right now. But they can't do that for a minor injury. Not an expert opinion, probably more to it, but some insight.
WOW... as a lifelong Bolts fan-a life that has been shortened for that very reason ;-) let me say this .. it is Marty's fault Nate was a post season disaster--YES MARTY'S!!! and i will address it in my weekly podcast this Thursday. I always wind up talking bolts in it like last week's. If you didn't catch it--after the MNF debacle--i would love your thoughts on these NEW points on why NORV is a joke... i promise they are some things you haven't heard yet.. and would love true Bolts fan's feedback.. especially if you are a fan with a BOLTS tattoo like me... ughh what an idiot i am!!!
