He said that he misses the coaching aspect of the game, I don't think he would ask to be GM/HC, would you consider him if (hopefully when) Norv gets fired?

I would consider him but my opinion means squat. If or when Norv gets shipped out of town I don't believe we would bring in any big names so the Cowher's, Holmgren's, and Gruden's should not be mentioned. Rich Bisaccia and Seahawks DC Gus Bradley are 2 that come to mind.

I'm pretty prejudiced against fatties, but I think that this doesn't apply in the NFL. Also, he's 64. He's overweight, but doesn't appear Rob Ryan obese.

His only success has been as a HC and that was a lifetime ago. He couldn't do squat with Cleveland

    No thanks, no retreads

He was successful as a QB's coach as well. I don't think he'd be coming here to be the GM, do you?

Also, he had the Seahawks in the SB in 2005, not bad.

Doesn't really matter because whoever they hire will likely be burned in effigy at the first mediocre season...

I think I mention to replace Norv, that means as HC and NOT as GM (and no dual role either)

Bisaccia's name came to mind during the bye when I dreamt that Norv would by fired (keeping Pagano as DC and whoever it is as OC)

some people say no retreads (I wonder how they would have felt about Bellichek after Cleveland) or no college coaches without experience, or no obscure assistants, then who exactly do you want? (that's a question for everybody)

Yes, let's hire him. We can pick him up for only a few million and a bag of hamburgers, and he won't be a cancer to the organization. And while we are at it, let's get Cowher in here to be in charge of the equipment, like the towels and stuff...

I vote we wait a few more weeks, hit Peyton so hard he has to retire, then sign him to HC. Dude is going to be an OC within 3 years of retiring. Lets fast track him.

The most important thing is first getting rid of the organizational cancer AJ Smith. As long as that cancerous piece of trash is here, no good head coaches will be coming to San Diego.

Let's get the smug jerkoff GM and his puppet head coach out of here, then let's worry about who the right guys are to repair the damage they've done over the past 5 years.

Has Bisaccia ever shown he can coach anything but STs?

Bradley would be interesting, love his style, he is the only DC this year who hasn't immediately gone to prevent defense against the Patriots in the 4th quarter.

Personally I'm all aboard the Brady Hoke bandwagon. He's the anti-Norv, but more sensible than a Rex Ryan.

what a BS response. Weight doesnt mean a thing when it comes to having control of a team.

People make subconscious decisions about others based on their physical appearance. There's nothing BS about that.

Gotta go with H8er on this one. Pure BS. Was Vince Lombardi slim? No? Norv is and where has it gotten us. Sorry, this is possibly one of the most ignorant things I have seen posted.

I never said that this applies to a coach's ability to be successful in the NFL (I, in fact, in a previous post in this thread stated just the opposite). However, to suggest that people don't make subconscious judgments about others based on their physical appearance is ludicrous.
