I can view it but is kind of a pain to navigate around .. Is this still a consideration in the future?
The new layout is much more mobile friendly, looks pretty good in Opera on my iPhone (Opera does a good job rearranging everyhting to make it ft well in the browser), the only drawback is that the graphics (avatars, sig pics) can sometimes be overwhelmingly huge. A full on mobile theme, scaled down w/out all the bells n whistles, would totally rule.
iPhone is a bit more compatible with full scale websites, though. I need one that can work well on my nokia, such as what you describe in the last sentence of your post.
I find it on my iPhone that to make it so I can see all the text I have to zoom way out and it's hard to read. There should be a mobile version.
Visit this site: Tapatalk - Forum App on the iPhone, Android, Nokia, and BlackBerry for vBulletin, phpBB, IPBoard, and SMF We have this enabled on our site and you can read the forum using the free version. If you want to post, it will cost $2.99 for the lifetime of that app.
I try to use my nokia browser and it takes forever to load (since it's trying to load the full version and not a mobile skin) And then when it finally loads I can't log in. If I click on the login button it just takes me to the home page.
Yeah, I'm not buying tapatalk. I'd like to second Leo's call for a mobile skin. Yeah I can load the site ok on my phones browser, but would much prefer a simple text only version.
Well the good news is that I am working on testing a few mobile skins and will keep you guys updated on the progress.
Good news. vBulletin is about to release a FREE iPhone/Android app to browse the forum. However, I am still testing a few skins to make it easy to browse the forums for people who do not have iphones or android phones.
The mobile skin is now live and should actually auto detect your phone. Of course there will be some testing and tweaking involved. But for the most part, it is working now. Just posted this from my blackberry with no problems.
Like say I've read a thread and then there's new posts next time I come back to the forum I can click on to read any new posts that have been made since I last visited the thread. To be fair though I just figured out that bolder thread titles have new posts and clicking on the bolded titles takes you to new posts
