Ok so this ha!s been a thought rolling around in my head for years so why not see who else everyone thinks merits a ring before their time is up.

Way back when we pulled Chris chambers out of the doldrums that was the dolphins I was very hopeful we could get him a ring in the end of his career. Imo Chris was one of the best examples of a guy who would lay his life on the line for his team. All those sideline catches (post the force out rule change) that he made jus kept me in awe of his sacrifice and relentlessness. It was a shame he never got his true due. Also considering I still haven't seen a wr come close to his grit when it came to sideline catches.

BUT I'm rambling let's get back on topic.

My current chargers that I want to see finish their careers on top of the nfl ranks with at least one ring:

    Philip Rivers
    Antonio Gates
    Nick Hardwick

    Eric Weddle
    Donald Butler
    Andrew Gachkar

Oh and I can't forget the best punter no one considers:

Mike Scifres....woo I spelled it right wout looking!

And I guess since Legedu Naanne isn't with us I'll add Seyi Ajirtutu (tho LEGS is like my new Chambers and I hope can get his too)

Well I'm sure u all have more you would add and I'd probably have to agree when it comes to many of the younger guys, those are my favorites for a while now.

Also Imo not only are their times getting short I also don't wanna win it all after manning and Brady have retired as we all know that will be our rivals first thing to throw in our faces and attempt to lessen the value of a SB win by us. Also Imo at the rate Roger the D Goodell is Goin I will be done watching ANY NFL in 10 years b/c the game will have flags and I can't disagree with pundits who would say Yea big deal about a SB victory.

Wow I have a new found disdain for typing on a cell phone.

    Let's go CHARGERS!!

    can't wait

People who deserve a ring but didn't get them as Chargers; Alworth (still think the Chargers in 63 could've smoked the Bears), Coryell (not a player but someone who revolutionized the game deserves it), Seau & Tomlinson (good teams with both and got close).

A couple of guys I'd like to add (some will never get a chance, others do), all are going to be pretty recent since i've only been watching actually knowing what i'm doing for about 5-10 years.

Marcus McNeil (I think he's my all time favorite Charger. He played his absolute balls off for us (I have that image of him playing with two clubs on dominating for a couple games.) My type of tackle, big/long/athletic/physical that had the potential to be one of the best. Not to mention that he was the funniest guy on the team and was just a genuinely good guy, or so it seemed)

Nick Hardwick (Yeah, the big boys need some love too, thats what I'm here for. This guy is just the prototypical C if you could ever make one. He's probably the smartest guy on the field at any given time, really understands the game, and despite being the small guy for most of his career, he always found a way to get the job done.)

Jamal Williams (Love this guy, nothin better than a guy whos job is to just eat up space.)

Seau (what more needs to be said.....)

Now this one's gonna piss some people off....

Jeromy Clary (I'm sorry but I have to do it....i dont care how bad he played at RT, he's one of the hardest workers we had on the field, day in and day out the guy worked his *** off. If he was a little more athletic, he would have been a VERY good player with that attitude. Same goes for Jaques Cesaire. People wonder why he lasted through 3 different coaches...its because he brings an intensity that nobody else could match.)

I agree on clary was jus mot interested in the backlash that usually ensues when you say he's here for a reason. That reason being that he is a worker day in and coach out.

Rivers needs a ring, because I am tired of all the talk about Big Ben and Eli both having 2 when Rivers IMO is the best of the 3.

But to answer the TC's post I think anyone of these men on the 53 roster who comes to work everyday, gives their blood sweat and tears as well as giving it their all every week, Is the most deserving of a ring. Not one man but all 53+

I think if rivers gets that ring, the 04 class will probably stand alone as the best qb class ever.

Even tho steelers carried big Ben to his first and same for eli and the giants.

Well maybe TH17 is Andrew Gachcar?

Also Marcus McNeill Over Kris Dielman? Seriously Duffman?! McNeill wouldn't be 1/2 the tackle he was made up to be without Kris

I guess it's obvious I should have clarified active Chargers as those who have missed their opportunity can't jus get back in the game...

I don't want any more of my favorite Chargers missing the chance.

The list of ALL Nfl players that had great careers and no ring is staggering indeed.

If this team can get theirs I'd like to believe all those who came before, who brought us to where we are today will merit some of the credit.

Let's not forget Mr Hilton for his help to create this great team and brandname.

Reality tells me no one "deserves" a ring as they have to be earned. My heart tells me unforeseen circumstances have played a huge role as to why it's never happened. Holy Roller, Ice Bowl and the Infamous Fumble have all played a part in this. When the Bolts finally shake the monkey off their back it will be shared with all those who gave everything they had to being a Bolt.

As you may have noticed that's just the players highlighted in the History of the Chargers did.

Toward the end I was adding players I remembered.

Also I left off johnny U as I believe he came to us with his ring secured. And I'm sure there are some who got theirs with other teams like Brees.

And there are all those other guys who aren't household names but with their dedication we wouldn't have those big names that appeared to stand out among the rest.

For all these men, let's bring at least one home it's long overdue.

They should have L.T and former chargers at the Lombardi presentation when we finally win this year.

I think the most deserving team was 2006 Chargers team. Marty deserved one, he was one helluva coach.
