I have just turned on some of the new features that are available since the upgrade. 1) Friends - This is kind of like myspace friends. If you add a friend, it'll show up in the friends section of your public profile. 2) Social Groups - Have a common interest with other members of this forum and like to create a group to take about it? You get a group area where you can post pictures and make posts just to the members of the group. 3) Photo Albums - Create your own photo album. Make it public or just share it with your friends (Note: mods and admin can see it as well) 4) Visitor Messaging - Now you are able to leave a message for someone in their profile. This is kind of like myspace comments. 5) Profile Styling - Customize your profile's colors, fonts, background pictures, etc.
It seems fun...I am trying to figure it out...I think I figured out how to accept friend requests but not sure...and I don't see my pager in/out box anymore under PMs in the top right corner...
To accept the friends invitation you have to click the little check box in the right hand corner...then hit save.
I am loving the new Profile stuff. It is awesome. Thank you very much for the addition of it Thumper. It is much appreciated.
Go to the persons name that you want to ignore, you might need to go to the members list and select their name. Then there is a place that says in their profile that says this: (user lists). Click that space and a drop down selection pane comes down. Then look for the one that says: (Add to Ignore list). It opens a page that says: ( Are you sure you want to add ????? to your ignore list ). Then click the yes button. It will open a redirect page for a second or few seconds, then it will take you back to the person profile page and then that person will be added to your ignore list. I hope that helps.
You can also do it this way. Click on [User CP] in the left side of the nav bar. This will open your User Control Panel In the menu on the left side, look for a section called "Settings & Options". In that section click on [Edit Ignore List]. That will open a screen where you can enter the naems of anyone that you want to be on your ignore list. the only exception to this mods, super-mods, and admins. You can also remove people from your ignore list on that screen.
I guess I can remove Sanppy Sammy...he's kinda fallen offa the face of the earth; musta got delayed in Pluto :icon_eek:
I wonder if one of those Chinese hookers killed him? He was always talking about his business trips over there, the weird *** food, and the hookers.
I found SnappySammy. He's alive and well and posting as recently as Jan 27th at this place: http://www.shanghaiexpat.com

are you talking about profile messages or PMs? If it's profile messages that you meant, you can set in your user options to receive profile messages from only friends and mods, or to not receive them at all. You can also delete messages in your profile. Here are the instructions: Any member can delete messages to them in their own profile. To do this they need to click on View Conversation then check the check boxes in the messages they want to delete. The check box will be in the upper right corner of each message near the time & date. Next they need to select Delete Messages from the drop down menu and press Go. They will be asked for the reason and then press Delete. Message deleted.
Can I attempt to be friends with the entire forum? I need to work on my social interactions skills. Some say I don't play well with others.
If you click on the notification it takes you the the group. I think it's towards the bottom on the left and it says something like "Join This Group".
Ok, here's another way to join a social group. Click on your name from the post you just made. There will be a drop down menu. Select "View Public Profile". This will take you to your profile. From there, look towards the bottom on the right hand side. you should see a box there called "Group Memberships". At the bottom of the box there is a link called "Join Social Groups". That will take you to a screen where you can view all the available social groups people have created. Click on the social group you want to join (There are only 3 right now). That will take you to the social group. If you do indeed want to join that group, scroll to the bottom and there will be a link called "Join Group". Click it and then there will be a screen that asks, "Are you sure you want to join the group called "**********"?" The asterisks will be replaced with the group name. Click yes and you're done.
