NFL | Draft time limit to be tinkered Mon, 15 Oct 2007 10:51:33 -0700 Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports changes will be made to the NFL Draft in order to make it more fan-friendly. Teams will have 10 minutes instead of 15 minutes in the first round to make selections. Time limits in later rounds will also be shaved. The move could be announced as early as next week's league meetings. It's a welcome change.
It's a welcome change to the fans, but I'm sure it's not welcome to those making any team's draft decisions.
This news is a lil old. I remember hearing this like 5 months ago. Anyway it's good news as now my carpal tunnel and deep vein thrombosis will not flare up sitting at the computer for 12 hours without moving for anything. It will probably help my bladder as it was near explosion at the end of the third. Also, Didn't they discuss doing round 1 in primetime on friday night and then 2-7 on saturday?
Oh, I thought they'd make an announcement that MTL and SDR's draft guides and choices would be followed to the letter.:icon_tease:
Glad they are deciding to do it. The last draft was the longest 3 rds in history. Even the ESPN guys were getting tired of talking about ****.
Not only is it easier on us, the advertisers will be happier because more people will stick around. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to make a first round pick. Not if you've done your homework.
They have all offseason....they have Pro Days, the Combine, and miles of tape on these guys. They have scouts, assistants, and a stopwatch in the hand of anyone with a pulse. What do they need 15 minutes in the first round for? Great move to shave down the rounds.
remember how long we sat there @ the HOC just to get to the Chargers pick, then it was WTF? when Daivs was called
