theres definitely been some really intense games this year, that philly/pitt series was very entertaining. lotsa fights. i watched the last period of the ducks/wings game 3 just now, and i have to say that an ed hochuli call is not a rare occurrance in sports. there was a minute and a half left, and hossa lunges and taps the rebound in, but it was called a no-goal because the ref couldnt see the puck. and even though hossa tapped it in BEFORE the whistle blew, nhl rules are so screwed up that if the ref INTENDS to blow the whistle, it doesnt matter when it happens. think of how many calls and goals the refs can manipulate in hockey. detroit should be playing in overtime right now instead of being down 2-1 in the series. if i was babcock id be raging. gl to ya the pens will be tough to finish
wheres the freaking game? I cant find it on Time Warner. The guide say red wing vs ducks but they MMA on? Anyone
I was sooooo glad to see the Penguins take it all last night. :flag: :icon_toast: They're not my faves.... but the Redwings are one of my least faves...
Anybody have any long range predicitions for this year's Cup? I've got a good feeling about my Blackhawks for the first time since Hull and Mikita skated first line.
There is actually a team (Homerhawks) in one of our local leagues that uses your Homer logo...nice. Go Caps!
The Canucks came unglued last night. With their revolving door into the box, we could have skated our Ice Crew Girls carrying shovels in the 2nd and beaten them. Not to detract from Toews’s effort though- he owned the power play.
Given that the Caps crapped the bed (again)...I'm pulling for the Hawks. Hopefully "1961" is no more :icon_toast:
Thanks BoltFan. I appreciate that. It was a GREAT run, and I hope it happens for the Caps. But not anytime soon. I'd like to "peat" this a couple, two, tree times. Your day is very near.
Any early early early predictions for next year's Cup? I'll take my Hawks to do it again. She plays for Detroit.
48 games are better than nothing. It's almost playoffs time... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nhl/news/20130107/nhl-labor.ap/
If you're in the East, watch for the large red object in the #3 seed. Ovechkin carried this team in March and April. My vote for the Hart goes here (yeah I'm biased, so what?!?!) GO CAPS! Now if they can just not crap the bed in the playoffs like they usually do...
Crazy playoffs last year with low seeds making runs. Wouldn't surprise me to see it happen again, but I gotta go with the favorites this year. Here's a couple questions: Who has the best combo of goalie and physicality in the East? And unstoppable offense in the West? Blackhawks vs Bruins.
Disagree. Here's why. Start in the West...I think the team the Hawks need to fear is their Round 2 opponent. Both the Kings and Blues hit everything that moves and have strong goaltending (Elliott and Quick are ridiculous, and last night's game was a thing of beauty to watch as a fellow netminder). The Ducks could pose a problem in the West finals; I think if the Hawks win their second round series they are set, but that is a BIG "if". The Blues are the team the Hawks do not want to see, with the Central Division rivalry and all. I am calling the upset now...Blues/Kings winner comes out of the West, and I think it is the Blues. In the East, the Penguins when fully armed are head and shoulder above everyone else. The Bruins and Habs faltered badly down the stretch. The Senators can be a problem if Craig Anderson is healthy but do not have much else (no Spezza either). The Caps are on fire (YES) and I think will drop the Rangers. The Isles will give the Pens a run, but not much more. Think the East Finals is Pens/Caps, and the Pens win it...much as it pains me to say this (think Bolts/Raiders for the level of rivalry here). Blues/Pens in the Finals is my call (I reserve the right to change later should circumstances warrant ). Blues will beat up the Penguins physically and win the Cup.
