The Penguins are very vulnerable now, and the Blues and Kings are beating the hell out of each other. The winner of that series is going to look like hamburger going into the next round.

    At least Vancouver is gone.

As much as I miss seeing my Devils in the playoffs, love watching the games, there are some great series going on that's for sure. Game 3 Kings/Blues where the Kings won 1-0 was amazing, such a great game.

Hard to pick who might make it all the way at this stage, any team could do it.
My picks for the first round were:
    Islanders
Habs (not looking likely at this stage)
    Capitals
    Leafs

Can't believe it but I never chose picks for the West (i am on a lot of forums and that was from another NHL thread)

Good night Habs and Wild, thanks for playing.

Can't think the Leafs will survive past Game 5 either the way they look.

The Hawks offense is going to keep coming. Too many weapons. And Crawford is playing well when he needs to.
The Pens could be the team out of the East. Depends on Crosby's health. I never bet on Crosby's health. I'll stick with the Bruins (but with Ovechkin and Backstrom on my playoff squad, I've got $$$ on the Caps).

If the Wings take out the Ducks, then it's Wings-Hawks, Sharks-Kings/Blues.
The Sharks are nasty. Granted so are the Kings--tough counting them out. They play the same no matter if they're down big or up big: badass. Love that ****, even though I'm no Kings fan. Gotta dig that style.

Still gonna stick with Chicago though. Too damn good.

    A few quick thoughts:

Caps come up big at the Phone Booth (of course bad weather knocks out the satellite just in time for Ribeiro's game winner, had to catch it on radio). Now if they can just show up at MSG on Sunday...I want the next game at Verizon to be Game 1 of the Conference Semis, not a Game 7.

Big game from Reimer and the Leafs tonight...though I think it just postpones the inevitable.

Marc-Andre Fleury is garbage. If the Pens are to go anywhere Vokoun will be the guy. They can't just expect to overwhelm the opposition night in and night out...Ottawa will beat on them physically if they get by the Isles.

Red Wings nearly blew it tonight, but held on. If they win Game 7, it's Wings/Hawks in Round 2.

Think Penner's buzzer-beater at the end of the 2nd will finish St. Louis, initially thought it was a softie, but it deflected off Polak's stick on the replay...can't fault Elliott there.

    Gotta love playoff time!

That last second goal was demoralizing for St. Louis.

I'm sticking with my Blackhawks all the way. They looked great last night once they settled-in. Sharp has been huge in the playoffs so far. Wait until Kane and Toews start scoring.

Things just got interesting in Boston. There's nothing better than Game 7 overtime.... when it's not your team playing in it.

As for Toronto, think the whole city is in mourning today.

    Sorry about your Caps, BoltsFanDC.

Yeah, the folks in Toronto are just a little bit sadder than the Bostonians who left The Garden early. That was one of the all-time great comebacks in sports.

Caps May disappointments are to be expected, unfortunately...kind of like Charger disappointments in January.

Me too. This should be a good series. Bruins/Rangers also. As a lifetime Hawks fan, I'm dreading playing a hot Red Wings team right now.

Toronto hockey fans are like Pats fans in waiting. My thanks to the Bruins for keeping them in their place.

But hey... at least its not Vancouver.

    ---
The only decent fans up here in Canuckstan are in Edmonton and Montreal. They at least have a winning tradition. The rest are arrogant wannabe pretenders... (who think they own the game while having their heads buried in the anal orifice).

    ---
Apparently the Red Wings are sending a contingent of professional grovelers over to Sweden to convince Nick Lidstrom to come back if only just to play in the 3rd period.

    Indeed, it has been.

The Hawks came out in game 1 looking like the Hanson brothers for the first 5 minutes and set the tone against a tired Detroit team. Unfortunately the Red Wings are rested now.

Interesting...the Blackhawks now have the first "must-win" they have had all season.

The Wings are tough in the Joe...Hawks better show big in 4 or it might be good night.

Agreed. Tomorrow night is big for the Hawks.

Boston is in a good spot now.

No doubt. Looks like they found their touch again yesterday but they could lose it any time...Chicago vs Boston prediction in jeopardy, but I'm not backing off it until the octopi fly.

Patrick Roy is back. Maybe if he can punch Babcock's lights out the old rivalry will be back on again.

    No Octopi. Just Game 7.

And then there were five. I am not counting the Wings out of game 7. Let's see who takes on the Kings.

Roy as a NHL HC is gonna be a show. Not sure it'll result in more Avs Ws, but it'll be good fun.
The Sakic = Elway mediocy here in CO is a bit perplexing. There's no Peyton Manning available to bail out the Avs....

Anything can happen in this game. There's no telling which schizo Blackhawks will show up. Should be a good ole Original 6 brawl though.

The Hawks are gonna have a physical challenge in front of them going into the Kings series. But having picked Bruins-Hawks final, I'm not backing off now. The 3rd period strategy by Quinneville I guess paid off. But damn, playing PK rules in your own end when you're even? **** that. You got numbers? Attack the ******* puck carrier in the corner! **** was driving me crazy.
