I do not want our starters to be taken out and the Dodgers creep back up and possibly win the game so I would keep the starters in for the I hope sure win at this point.
Woodys out of another inning without a run so He can just pitch a more relaxed game with such a lead but we need to keep pounding it up with our bats and see what the outcome will be and hopefully a big blow out of a game.
take the momentum and take the west at the same time, 2 more games after tonight to start the run for the nl west title
Yep Yep and I could not agree more so I hope the NL west Pennent will be the San Diego Padres I like the sound of that.
after the third inning our bats went cold like ice cold and that is not good but I still like the big score though.
We girls had too much fun yesterday! The Power of the BEAT LA tank tops is not to be denied. Chris Young will dominate. The Pads will win, although at a much smaller margin. I am amped for both the Padres and the Chargers! Too much sports in the house, too much sports in the house...
PADRES WIN PADRES WIN:icon_toast: FIRST PLACE YEAH!!!:icon_banana: Russell Branyan HR Sledge GW RBI top 9. Young, 6 innings, 1 lowly hit, 0ER, 5BB, 4K. Unfortunately getting a ND. Linebrink gets the win.
Pitching Matchup for Monday's final game of the series: LAD: RHP Brad Penny (16-8, 4.04) Penny won his start after shutting out the Cubs through seven innings of work to earn his 16th win. SD: RHP Jake Peavy (9-14, 4.17) The Padres' ace has pitched into the sixth inning in eight of his last 10 starts. Scouting Report: Peavy got last Wednesday what he's been lacking most of the season -- run support. The Padres offense scored 10 runs off Reds pitching and Peavy allowed just three hits in six innings. He walked one and struck out two. Peavy got into a bases loaded jam in the second inning but was able to induce a double-play ground ball to end the frame. That was the only time the Reds threatened against Peavy who beat Cincinnati for the second time this season. Penny found his first-half dominance against the Cubs. With the bullpen needing a rest, he tossed seven scoreless innings in his best outing since June 9. Penny struck out seven without a walk, showing the command he has lacked for the most part since he started the All-Star Game. GO PADRES!
The remainder of the season is going to be interesting....I think it will be a fight to the finish...
I am kind of worried about the Giants because all it takes is for either The Dodgers or the Padres to get into a losing streak and then the Giants get into a winning streak for there can be a mess when the season ends to figure out who is going to represent the NL West in the playoffs to the World Series.
Win tonight and those dudes from ESPN's Baseball Tonight will have hit the mark 100% on predicting the outcome of our 4-game series with the Dodgers.
Goin to watch the Padres beat LA (I hope) with Rexy at a local Sports Bar... See ya all to celebrate later. :icon_mrgreen:
