The Kevin Acee nugget of the day...........

There are people who think AJ tells me everything. But he is more protective of his secrets then the Chargers offensive line is of Philip Rivers, I'll tell you that.

As the Chargers prepare to play Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, I was interested in Smith's take on the state of the team – the invisible pass rush and fragile pass protection, the running back who can either not get on or stay on the field, the receivers making a bunch of money and just a few catches.

I asked if he and Spanos had discussed Norv Turner’s future and Philip Rivers’ present. Given the Chargers' perch on the brink of elimination, I asked Smith what he thought Spanos thought of the players Smith had brought in.

“Dean and I are disappointed in our record and the position we find ourselves in at the present time,” Smith said. “We talk all the time. We talk about the now, we talk about winning the next game. The season is underway and unfolding with twists and turns on a weekly basis. We want to play well and beat Denver. We want to stay in the race.

“This is the only focus of the entire organization. This is our team for 2012, with a lot of football left to be played. We may very well be on the brink of elimination, as you say, but we may also find ourselves back in the thick of the race.”

Yawn. About all I took from that is that Smith may be distancing himself from Norv Turner, ever-so-slightly. Notice that he and Dean are disappointed. Notice, too, that he points out “this is our team,” meaning his work is done.

I might be reading into things, but I know the man pretty well.

Don't make such statements which can potentially be used against yourself in the future ;)

Who knows? Corpsie may have sired two future NFL HOF QBs ;)

BTW, wouldn't it be hilarious if his Sons played football and wore a bag over their helmets? :roflmao:

No, it doesn't, we can agree on that fact at least.

In all seriousness though, I just sick and tired of hearing about why guys CAN'T produce anymore, all we ever seem to hear about these days is a new excuse, rather than what steps are being taken to rectify the situation, which has been a constant now for years with this team.

You won't ever hear me say "I feel sorry" for a Pro athlete in today's world, they are pampered beyond belief and are very very well compensated for their time and effort as far as I'm concerned......less moaning and more production ya PrimmaDonna's.

    So now your Fillup's #1 enabler I see ....... ;)

Have never given them a pass in that area, but I'm certainly NOT blind to the fact that Fillup is his own worse enemy of late and needs to take responsibility for that, not blame everyone else around him, just because he's been sensational in the past, doesn't discount the fact that these days he's playing like a washed-up hasbeen, which I thought I'd never be saying about the guy.

The one thing I've loved about Fillup as much as his game, was his ability to comprehend the big picture and run a team, he just isn't showing that of late and that astounds me......... Skills deteriorate, we all know that, but its unusual for a guy to lose the ability to understand the mental side of things the way Fillup has shown over the last year and a half, that I could never have predicted to happen.

Its not only a softer, gentler world on the playing fields these days mate ................. its really only a microcosm of society as awhole.

Even a Mr Whippy soft serve would be to tough to swallow these days for most I would imagine, just a tad to hard for todays palate. ;)

If he knew how to toss properly (like you) then he wouldn't be a baby daddy twice over, would he? ;)

How the farg can you "grease palms" to make someone a "legal resident" over there? What kinda a joint are you bunch running there? Even Banana Republic (with Prezident Romney & Vice Prezident Ryan) seem to have stricter immigration policies :D

I think I need permission from the Aboriginal Elders to get someone of colour in permanently, would hate to upset them and give them an excuse to start another protest about something. :D

Oh ......indeed a sign of the times the BLEW.

Our Rugby Union boys have been copping an absolute shellacking in the media for quite some time now due to their very unlike Aussie play these days........past greats of the game have been speaking out publicaly and are most concerned about the direction the game is heading down here.

    Fargin' Pussies. ;)
