I think we're having a "real" San Diego winter day, with rain and temps in the high 40's. Fred is more pleased than I.
You didnt find that amusing at all ? Wait till I tell Rudy what you "really" think of him then .......
Just reading up and getting informed about the situation in Conneticut this morning ............. Seriously, I just give up on even discussing this stuff anymore ............... Already been way to much talk and no where near enough action taken in regards to these situations ................... and nothing will ever change unfortunately. Very very sad world we live in ...... end of story.
A culture of violence....... they have plenty of guns in Canada, but you don't hear about this type of atrocity occurring there. The USA's murder rate is 3 times Canada's, while the percentage of gun ownership is about the same.
An ever-increasing number of criminally insane, who have access to guns, wouldn't be out of place either I believe Blew.
There are cultures of violence and then there are "cultures of violence". For instance, there is a lot of violence (mostly because of terrorism) in Israel and their population is very well armed. However, they are highly trained with weapons as they have a mandatory military service. Also, because they experience societal violence on a more tangible level as we do in here, they do not tend to glorify violence as much as we do in the U.S. Unfortunately many people in the U.S. wrap themselves within the second amendment and just "collect" (I rather use the word amass) weapons without the proclivity toward hunting (I don't wish to get into the self-defense argument which is a long and protracted discussion in a society governed by both individual State & Federal Laws). The recreational aspect of using guns is pretty much limited to enjoying one's gun passion at shooting ranges. Being of a Libertarian mind when it comes to certain issues, I absolutely believe in the 2nd amendment, but despise the Lobby which claims to represent the 2nd amendment rights, all the while shilling for the Gun Industry. If people want to drive a motor vehicle, they need to learn how to drive, pass a written and practical test in order to obtain a driving license and renew it once in a while. Why should guns be any less different, other than the required background check because of the obvious nature of their difference to motor vehicles. Buy your guns, collect your guns, enjoy your guns, hunt with your guns, go to gun related shows, conventions, etc; but earn the "right" to own them responsibly and learn how to safeguard them so that they do not fall with the wrong hands, be it whether a friend or a foe.
I think that regulating gun ownership through training, testing and licensing would actually be an economic boon to many retail level gun merchants, but this may paradoxically effect the bottomline of the manufacturers and the wholesalers who will not directly get a piece of that pie. Even if the State Governments were to issue the ownership licenses, many retail level gunsmiths & shooting ranges can still provide the training. Really no different to the DMV which does not provide driving schools, smog tests & repairs.
Google Maps is available at the App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and is compatible with iOS 5.1 and higher, but not for the iPad. <sigh> The contentious relationship continues... Edited: (It will run in iPhone mode on iPad).
Terrell Suggs marries woman who accused him of domestic violence So, less than a month since she got a protective court order, she had it removed and they were married 3 days later? Merry Christmas y'all...
Google maps was loaded on my little iPod as soon as it came out - I want to get where I'm going. I don't play fantasy football nor fantasy directions. Edited - I'm just being a on this one Blue - to be truthful, knowing where I'm at and where I'm going is a life-long habit. I rarely "count" on a computer or GPS, preferring hard copy book maps and road atlas.
Couldn't resist (I'm a very weak minded person), so last week I went and bought myself an iPad 4 / 64 Gig, but elected against the cellular service (again) The older iPad 2 was going to go on eBay, but made a hand-me-down Christmas present. I'm loving this new toy so much so that I bought it a $110 Jacket ($68 for the rip-off leather Apple Smart Cover + $39 for an ultra thin case compatible with the Smart Cover) as its Christmas present
If I had to go to my local WM and spend over 20 minutes trying to track someone down to "help" me and then come to find out that the iPhone which I want is not avail in my color of choice (Blk) or the iPad which I would have liked (if I were to buy one @ WM) is only available with cellular service and not WiFi, I would just rather pay the 20% more retail mark up and save raising my blood pressure! Most often the WM electronic "experts" are as clueless as our own Good Ol' Frostie WM + & & + Chargers SUCK!
