story, art, acting wasn't my biggest problem either. The magic of the first ones were that the stunts were done with minimal editing. Especially number II stands the test of time as a movie that puts you into the desperation by not tricking you with edit "stunts" and they didn't ruin story and dialogue by explaining everything...they just dropped you off into the world!

George Miller did a great job with I & II, especially with II when the budget grew bigger with the successes of I, then those stunts became bigger, faster, louder but by no means became dumber and sillier as most Hollywood sequels do nowadays. Actually back then, most sequels were not complete duds. Even in Beyond Thunderdome, Miller didn't sacrifice too much of the stunt choreography that had become synonymous with the MM franchise.

My money is on Sandy saying something about posting style and the reason he was given being a direct nod to whatever it was. I can't imagine any other reason for such an explanation being given honestly. Based on what I have seen/experienced in the past that's my best guess.

Again, I don't know what happened to push things over the edge, because despite how blatantly rude he's been in the past towards the administration here, he hadn't been banned before and it wasn't ever a serious consideration. I have a hard time believing it was an action taken lightly or simply due to petty differences.

I'll have to watch III again but pretty sure stunts were chopped to death. I also remember the city wasn't plausible and themovie really looked like a video supported by a movie

Possible. Also possible to ask Sandy himself. He's damned honest.

I'm not sure honest is the term I would use. After the blatant lies he's thrown my way I'm a wee bit skeptical, to say the least. I couldn't imagine he'd play any role but the helpless victim.

Jack, I forgot where we were discussing this (I'm on the road now…trying to find a suitable tent site here in Yellowstone)
but here's more evidence that the Chronicle was just pulling #s (30-1) out of their butts:
I was in Vegas yesterday, and checked with 5 of the "old Vegas" casinos, re. what they're paying
if the Bolts win the Super Bowl: Two laid 12-1, two gave 15-1, :unsure:and the other said 8-1
I double checked with them on that last one…pity the casual fan who walks in there first!

I told myself I'd take a bite as long as I could find at least 14-1.

Sportsbook.ag has us at +1400. I opened up an account and put $100 on the moneyline at +280. It's down to +275 now. They matched my first bet free, so I put that on the points (+9.5) at -120. They also gave me $25 free for using a mobile device, I put that on the over 55 at -110. In all, I can walk away with $486 on a $100 investment.
