It is an overstatement, but Jack doesn't know any other way to express his opinions. ;)

Since Clary has only played guard for exactly one season, it would be impossible to say definitively that he has "no upside." Sure, Jack doesn't hold Clary in high regard, but any player switching positions needs more than one year to show if they have the ability to improve. The jury is still out.

I can live with Clary at guard there are bigger needs on this team right now.
Blues correct Clary can still improve, one year is nothing to say a guy has no upside.

And who are you; the proud Lord said, that I must bow so low?...

Only a cat, of a different coat; that's all the truth I know...

In a coat of gold or a coat of red, the lion still has claws...

And mine are long and sharp my Lord, just as long and sharp as yours...

    ;)

    For the record:

Clary's positives are: hard worker, durable, good teammate, good locker room guy, good community member...

Negatives are serviceable OT at best: decent run blocker and below average pass blocker.

Showed improvements as an OG with Fluker on his right side, but in hindsight if we had retained Vasquez and had let go of Clary a season ago, we would have been better equipped on the right side; with the BIG caveat being that Vasquez could not have served as a RT when the decimated line was playing musical chairs and also Clary's salary cap hit.

Vasquez however had more upside as RG. Now, as I had stated before on multiple occasions, there's absolutely no need to cut Clary at this point before the draft, training camp, pre-season right up to and until when it is time to determine the final 53. If he earns it, HE EARNS IT!

I can see a scenario where Clary sticks around..... much to the chagrin of his detractors. :whistling:

Perhaps, the team is allowing him to collect the full amount of his current deal, as a thank you for all his hard work, and they'll draft his replacement this year. That'll give the new guy a season to develop without being forced to start.

Then, if Clary is amenable, they'll sign him back next year at a reduced rate as a backup (RG/RT). We might never be rid of him. ;)

True is in the eye of the beholder dear SandyBob.......... Everyone is entitled to an opinion and that is mine, simply put.

Clary, in of himself, is a very ordinary NFL Offensive lineman, when compared with others who play the position, that is indisputable fact ....... Now I will say that having a player of Flukers ability along side him, may indeed improve the Line play overall, but that doesn't make Jumpy all of a sudden able to stop making the mental errors that have plagued him throughout his career or improve his statue-like foot speed, it simply covers up his deficiencies and wallpapers over the cracks.

I seriously doubt he is going anywhere, obviously the franchise see something I don't and that's all there is to it ....... No prob's, but I'll remind you all of his lack of talent again come the season no doubt, let's just hope it isn't when Fillup is being stretchered off the field. ;)

If moving a foot to your left is all it takes to turn one from a human turnstile and all it takes to somehow "find" speed and blocking ability, I may well come out of retirement and give it a shot for what these turkeys get paid these days. :D

I do agree with the first line ........ Dlineman with ability to bust free from blocks and pressure QBs is far more pressing matter, then hopefully our putrid Secondary isn't exposed. ;)

Well we "Bobs" don't have to be pretty... (as many of your well loved JNCP colleagues were quick to point out during the time I couldn't respond).

That reminds me of a joke.

Q: What does a stripper do with her Bob Dole before she goes to work?
A: She drops him off at band practice.

Q: What do you do when a guitar player rings your doorbell?
A: You pay him for the pizza.

Where da farq is that schedule ????

Someone get on the blower to Dodgy in Tahiti and tell him he has work to do !!!!

Mind you, may not be able to make it over this year, seeing as the Deev lodged her immigration papers officially yesty ...........

The price to apply has been steadily rising over the last 18 months or so, to the point I may have to have OctoMum spit out another kid for me to adopt and sell to Ang & Brad, just to pay off the farging paperwork cost at this rate. :(

Its always just my opinion, no different to anyone else in a forum, until ofcourse The Deaner wakes up to himself and dumps Little Johnny's lame scouting arse for mine. ;)
