Not too late for San Diego to charge into playoffs Last week's game in London versus the New Orleans Saints appeared to be a do-or-die contest for a San Diego Chargers team struggling to stop any offense. Unfortunately for the Chargers, they were on the wrong end of a 37-32 decision that dropped them to 3-5. But here's a reason to believe that the spark hasn't completely died for the Chargers: The teams remaining on their schedule have a 25-31 overall record. Only one team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, stands out as an especially difficult matchup. There's no room for argument that San Diego isn't yet the same club that made it to the AFC title game last season, but a bye week will go a long way toward healing the Chargers' physical and emotional wounds. Commentary: The AFC West is wide open and nobody can say that they think the 4-3 Denver Broncos, whose defense is a mess and whose office is suddenly inconsistent, will run away from the Chargers. Jump off the San Diego bandwagon at your own risk. Fan Pulse: A portion of Chargers fans are ready to give defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell the boot, but are debating who would be the next in line: http://forums.chargers.com/showthread.php?t=60220. Fantasy Football Commentary: WR Vincent Jackson is coming into his own. If you play in a league that is point-heavy on touchdowns, then Jackson is your man. He has three TDs in the past three weeks and is becoming a favorite target for QB Philip Rivers. Injury Watch: WR Chris Chambers returned in Week 7 and caught five passes for 47 yards. He should be back to normal after the bye. realfootball365.com
Great article. I for one have not given up on this season or want Ted fired (yet). Though if we don't win the Lombardi, I want the entire pathetic coaching staff replaced!!!
Thanks Deb. We have a great shot at winning the division especially with all the pathetic teams around us. We just need to score 30-40 points a game, thats all.
That game against Indy sure looks like an elimination game at this point (granted we aren't still stuck on 3 wins)
Yeah, and who could have expected that this would be the case? NFL is always surprising. But, we still have a shot to win the division. Because, there isn't any one team taking control of the AFC West.
