So, you're one of the most accurate posters ever in the regular threads but you miss any time your speculation matters most?
My speculations are a solid as Mathews clavicle... Wait, they are as accurate as a Bobby Bethard draft pick... Wait, they are tighter than the grip Mathews has on a football...
I would like to see Whisenhunt NOT get a HC gig. And it is possible, arent there only 2 vacancies left?
Carmichael, Shurmur, Wisenhunt,I think there is an argument to be had for Jeremy Bates, maybe Marty Mornhinweg. Those are just the NFL guys. It sounds like we may have missed out on Aaron Kromer, one of the best O-line coaches in the league.
I wouldn't. I'd like to see him get a gig (though it's not likely, since one of the two remaining openings is the team that canned him) because he's the leading candidate to replace Mike McCoy in Denver - and I'd just as soon Denver have to promote from within and Peyton be left as the "primary play-caller" (since it doesn't give him someone he's terribly confident in to give "what if we.."/"here's a thought..." type ideas to him through the headset; that and Peyton can't run the offensive practices by himself).
You don't want Marty "I completely ignore the run game even if I have a good RB" Mornhingweg. For all the crap Andy Reid got for the play-calling the last several years in Philly it was really MM - Andy scripted the first 5-10 offensive plays per game, but everything past that was all on Marty.
Not really what i was sayin. I was saying it as to mean if he doesnt get the HC gig, we can bring him in to OC/ semi play call or call for now till McCoy gets his feet wet.
Broncos promote Adam Gase to offensive coordinator There is only one HC position available (Cards). Could the Whizz be in play for OC or do we get a puppet OC to call McCoys plays?
I want an ex-HC (former OC) as OC, that way there's a little more experience in the coaching staff and MM feels better about letting him really be the OC
Jeff Davidson- O line coach in Minnesota who I believe LBC pointed out in an earlier post Davidson and McCoy worked together in Carolina Hue Jackson- Made Jason Cambell look legit, Raiders look legit, TJ housh and Chad Johnson had their best years under him, he helped develop Flacco. The Whiz Geep Chryst- He is currently the QB coach in S.F. He helped Alex Smith and Kaepernick develop into passers. He also was the tight ends coach in Carolina when McCoy was there so there is a little history between the 2 Pete Carmichael- Helped turn N.O. into the number one offense 4 of the past 6 seasons, I really would be interested in this guy because he would know what to do best with our "number 1 receiver" Meachem besides benching him.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Jacksonville requested permission from New Orleans to interview Pete Carmichael Jr for its OC job. New Orleans still wants to re-sign him.
And maybe he can turn Royal into Lance Moore as well. And Alexander can play the Colston role. And Gates can play the Graham role. We still need a Sproles.
Unless the Jaguar GM is writing a bigger check, I doubt he'd go off the JAX for a the same position. If Pete can't come I want the wiz...
I know you're just being facetious but This is where Turner failed, Now true Royal failed to stay on the field but when he originally was brought in I envisioned Royal to play the part as one of the most dangerous weapons in our offense. I know he isn't as good as Sproles but I felt they could have used him in the sense that he could make defenders miss with the quick slants and bubble screen passes and also use a couple gimmick plays where he lines up in the back field. I hope with McCoy being a little more familiar with Royal we can see a little more production of of his skill sets
UTKevinAcee @UTKevinAcee Speculation: Ken Whisenhunt possibly becoming Chargers' OC. Can't confirm as of now. But he was likely HC choice if McCoy not available.
The problem with Wiz is he's going to be a HC candidate every year. Carmichael from what I know of him doesn't sound like a HC, at least not for a long while. I don't think he has the HC mentality.
I'm fine with Whiz as OC even if it means having to hope he doesn't get hired elsewhere as a HC every year. I imagine we'd have to deal with that with just about any good-to-great coordinator anyway. We might have the same issue with Pagano if our defense remains strong.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Former Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt will become offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers.
