two in a row baby!!
tyrone green C, Auburn
Tyronne Green | OG | Auburn
what was the point of Vaughn then?!
1/2 Chargers select tyronne green OG auburn
He looks better then Vasquez ironically enough
Line them up 3 deep and let them compete. Like it a lot.
Still would like a DE.
134th pick = Gartrelle(sp?) Johnson RB
who the hell?
Gartrell Johnson (RB) Colo St
hard runner, decent at cutbacks, does not stop playing
You guys crack me up. Every pick is met with the same reponse:
What a circle jerk.
he had 278 attempts, 1,476 yards, and 12 touchdowns last year.
Gartrell Johnson? More reaches. AJ may know talent but he does not manage his picks well. We are not getting the full value of those picks; we could have easily traded down to get the same people. This reminds of Al Davis' weird drafts in the 80s as the Raiders fell into decline.
In the Tigers' most trying season in recent memory, Green was one of the team's few bright spots. Having entered the program as a defensive tackle, it took the left offensive guard three years before he would crack the starting lineup, but he would go on to man that demanding position in each of his final 25 games.
Scouts compare Green to former Auburn standout Ben Grubbs (Baltimore), as he has great athletic ability and outstanding suddenness coming off the snap. Even though he never started at the position, the coaching staff experimented with Green at center in 2008 fall camp. He showed the quick hands and head-on-the-swivel agility that could see him possibly shift to the pivot position in the National Football League.
"Those were definitely the first snaps I ever took at center," Green said. "You have to make calls and pretty much tell everybody else who they've got and you have to snap the ball and get on your guy. I have a lot more respect for my teammates (centers Jason Bosley and Ryan Pugh) at center."
I would have preferred Rashard Jennings but this is a good complimentary back to LT and Sproles, more of a hard runner. I've got no complaints with this pick
The Green i don't get, what purpose does he fill? We ahve two guards in the draft + mrzucowksi and forney
RB out of Colorado State - he's a power running back... I'm a little bias b/c now I can buy a jersey with my last name on it hehehehe
Johnson is not a reach. He was ranked in the RB top 10.
The Patriots had a real logjam at corner. Hobbs would have cost the Patriots about 2.5 million next year, even though he was a fine kick-off returner.
"The Patriots’ secondary struggled last season – the team was 26th of 32 teams on third down – and this trade seems to reflect how the Patriots felt Hobbs contributed to that statistic." Boston Globe
Why exactly is it a reach? Because Mel Kiper had him rated lower? I love it when the people here who are constantly wrong about where in the draft a player will go insist that the players we draft could have been had later. None of you know nearly as much as you pretend to.
Backup C to Nick.... Newberry is history already don't forget.
He would have been available next round also....
Michael Turner is that you?
Ok fair enough, but i have nothing says he can play center, Mel Kiper's talking about him just as a back up guard
Translation: Hobbs is the sorriest corner in the league.
And I guess we are supposed to pretend that you do?
Check your eyes
What exactly is value this late in a shallow draft.? You all wanted BEEF we get BEEF. Who said Jennings was so good? Seems like a lot of teams are drafting other RB's. We still may pick him yet, though.
Jimmy Ray said it on pick cam. That is the plan for him.
that qualifies them as draft gurus, don't you think?
Me, I don't even know these guys, I'm just looking at position, size and attitude, and I like that all are described as "nasty, mean, hard runner, et."
Maybe the feeling is that Green can backup Hardwick since Withrow is gone and Newberry is footballistically dead.
Separate names with a comma.
