      Now there's a reliable source;)

The problem with fresh blood is their recent history. The entire Bellicheat tree, any recent Turds HC, Jason Garrett, Spags, Morris, etc. Retreads have had a better history lately. Carroll, the Rat, John Fox. Granted, some of that credit has to be shared with the FO. That's why I'd rather see Gamble or even Telesco land the GM job than Raye, whose promotion would be like saying "we liked AJ, but his reputation was shot so we'll give the job to his protege."

But with the hirings of Marrone and Reid (LMAO), and Kelly and O'Brien turning down the NFL, slim pickings just got razor thin as far as decent options go, especially with our slow start in the search. I don't trust this group to hire the right coordinator for HC, and promoting college HC's is even riskier. I got a bad feeling things will get worse before they get better.

No Mora, Holmgren, Lovie, I'd rather they just hire Chucky over one of those guys. Keith Butler would a great choice IMHO or Zimmer but if Raye ends up GM maybe he can chat with Shaw.

With all due respect, you don't know what you're talking about if you honestly believe that.

The strength of this team is now on the defensive side of the ball. So go with it.

Scared of what? Lovie? or Cam?

I'm not in favor of Cam. But I'm cool with Lovie as long as Gamble is the GM picking the talent.

If Gamble and Lovie could build this defense up even more... teams might actually be a little nervous about coming in to San Diego.

Like I said in the previous post... the defense is the strength now. Go with it.

But I don't think Lovie is going to be the choice. Unless Raye is the GM.

Cam is Norv-lite, he got fired mid-season because teams had caught onto his repetitive predictable never changing scheme as well. I remember thinking he should have been fired after we nearly beat them, it was an amazing display of offensive ineptitude on both offenses.

      Be scared shitless.

A cynical person would say all the Lovie talk, is just to satisfy the Rooney Rule, but only CoronaDoug would say something snarky like that. ;)

Luckily, we had our GM requirement taken care of "in-house". ;)

I'm not enamored by Lovie... and I certainly don't wana see Cam Cameron anywhere near this team. I want some fresh Offensive ideas, like somebody said he is Norvlite.

I'm forecasting the name of our new GM will be announced late tonight PT.

      It was a joke!!

Unfortunately clubs have to interview a coach based on the color of their skin. I would think that the NFL society is past this. I think they need to reconsider the Rooney rule.

I think they should switch places....... Castillo was better off as an OC, let Cam try his hand at the DC job. :D

Unless an organization knocks his socks off, or vice versa then.. kind of. This happens every year, some guys don't interview well, ex. Mike McCoy last year, and now saying he is more prepared for the interview process this year. This, I'm guessing is Jay's first time going around to interview as HC. He probably wants to get a good feeling of what its like..

No Mora, Cam, Wade, Lovies or Holmgrens and I'm relieved RR kept his job with the Panthers. I still think Keith Butler would be an excellent choice for HC and he's not a DC only because the Stillers have a fairly good one already on board. So I don't want to hear that song and dance, Zimmer is interesting too and either one of those good would work well with Pags. I'd like to know if Joiner could possibly step up to the OC position, hell, he's been coaching for a long damn time.
