    read the list

    Positives

Rivers - he did play alot better INT included
Jackson/Floyd/Davis - Much better play, a good sign
    Gates - Incredible
Weddle, Florence, Hart (ish) and Jammer - these three made alot of plays with NO help from the pass rush.
    LT - Getting much better
    Phillips - two sacks

When you don't put pressure on Favre, he WILL find open receivers. I think the secondary played a pretty good game under the circumstances. I'm not sure what has happened to our front 7 since the 1st game vs. the Bears..

Ryan was brought in as a hedge against Cotrell. I suspect he knew tis when he signed, since this crap about gaining experience with the 3/4 was utter nonsense. It is time for Ryan to begin assuming more control over the defense. Merriman is not to blame, Phillips is not to blame, nor is Jammer, Hart or, heaven forfend, Mother McCree. Cotrell is not using the stengths of the personel. Merriman, Castillo nd others aren't being schemed to their strengths. Out of left field, I think we could use the Illustrated Man.

So, maybe the losses are because of the new coaches?

We don't blitz! Rushing four is not a blitz Ted. They spread us wide, and they know that they only have to block four guys, it's pathetic.

    The loss TODAY is because

    lack of defensive creativity
lack of blitzing (didn't see ONE all day)

    THAT'S IT!

Did Merriman even play today? He was too quiet.

Ant.....if they "keep improving at this rate" LT, Gates, Merriman and Castillo will either be on other teams or retired. Enough with the improvement talk. We DO NOT capitalize when we have momentum or know how to keep defenses honest with our playcalling. Seriously, it's never a good thing when you start feeling like half of the coaches in college football could call a better game than Norv and Cottrell.

I do NOT deny the coaches are sucking. Norv some, Cottrell ALOT. BUT after last week's debacle, where we didn't do anything right and questioned everything, there was improvement. Whereas last week I was the "CUT EVERYONE" guy, i'm staying calmer and looking at the positives as next week will be the end of the FIRST QUARTER of football and if we are 2-2, we are still in decent shape.

If you think those are positives, then have at it!

Bottom line is we have 1 win.

And I would assume that the Raiders are sitting back and licking thier chops right now.

its not even the first quarter
hell we made the playoffs when we lost all four first games and most of them by getting the **** kicked out of us. We were 2-2 in 2004 too. That's my point.

You are missing the point....if the coaches aren't the one's improving, then we are in deep shiat. It's not about the players in my mind. It's about game preparation, scheming (or lack thereof), play calling, etc. I really did try to give Norv the benefit of the doubt, but it looks like others were right.

Who was that team out there today? It sure wasn't the Chargers that I know.

Maybe it's time to start rebuilding.

The real Chargers are still lost somewhere out there! Remember, the football team of Notre Dame is filling in for the Chargers till they come back

Were we a one year wonder last season where everything just fell into place for us?

This Team and the Team last year are 2 entirely different teams.

    Same Players, different results.

It seems to be the coaches. The players have to follow their
training and playbook orders. But maybe all the other coaches
have put focus on handle Charger's offence, which was best last
season. THey had a lot of time during offseason, and the new
coaches Norv and Ted didn't bring in new variations.
