I thought it was very childish. Not his typical manner on the field.

He just threw a temper tantrum on national TV...

Okay two questions... 1) was that more or less childish than when he ripped off and threw his helmet?
(not the first time I've seen him pull his helmet off screaming this year)

and 2) would you prefer that he drooped his head looking like he's about to cry like another quarterback from the 2004 draft that went a couple picks earlier?

I would have prefered he handled himself like a pro. That IMO is not handelling himself as a pro.

Rivers is a competitor. I think he let his emotions get the best of him last night, but it's that same competitive spirit that drives him to be successful.

I don't think arguing with the officials on a close call is embarassing, but what was unacceptable was Rivers throwing his helmet as he came off the field. Rivers needs to show more composure than that. It's like Marty says, you have to forget the last play and focus on the next play. Rivers was unable to do that last night.

Yeah CONC and boltssb you guys are both right... at least one of Rivers' outbursts last night was slightly over the top. But that being said I still prefer an over the outburst to the sulking I see from that piece of chit in NY. And professional or not I can not help but grin watching PR clown the officials, sorry, just can't help it.

and I watched that as the helmet went flying underneath the bench.

As an Umpire, I could careless what the players do to their own equipment, but when their actions hurt others, thats when I have to step in and do something. he was lucky he did not get anyone hurt, thats the last thing we need at this point and time in the season.

A little too bug-eyed for my taste, but you have at it old-timer. :icon_rofl: :ABQ2:

I saw Andrea at the airport in KC in 1994, and I would not have described her as a hottie then. I can't believe the last dozen years on the road have improved her looks.

Hi KIM this is my reality today being nuts watching Football
Soccer is the main sport in Germany. American football is unknown
by many -- only in the Frankfurt GALAXY area we got lots of supporters -- and some of my friends really gets interested because

Hi Cranberry.... My kids are bugged I am taking up precious dvr/recording space with the Charger games :)...none of my friends are into FB at all...I'm glad my office partner is...he passed on LT for his fantasy league and is hating himself..of course I have to tease him every week...it's nice the Chargers have fans all over the world...won't it be exciting if they go all the way? This season has already been so great to experience...I am really hoping we win our remaining two games and finish out 14-2...I predicted 13-3 but I hope I am wrong...:icon_wink: Have a very Merry Christmas. :bolt:

    Oh, a married wine... :icon_tease:

Leibfraumilch is too sweet, IMNSHO... Now that I think about it I've had it before... I've also read that "Blue Nunn", before it was purchased by another German family in 96, was Leibfraumilch... Now it's another kind of grape (can't think of the name) with 30% Reisling added..... That's about as much Reisling as I can stand... It's an OK wine now..(Pardon my spelling errors)

I don't know how we got to this.... on a game day thread...

Somehow all threads on this site somehow come back to alcohol.

Blue Nun was a Liebfraumilch, generally considered a low grade of wine. But Blue Nun was reeningeering in 1996 to make it less sweet upgraded quality wise. It used to be 100% Mueller-Thurgau grapes but 30% Riesling was added at that time.

Liebfraumilch is a sweet white German wine. The name is a German word literally meaning "milk of our blessed mother" and derived from "liebe Frau" which translates to "beloved woman/lady".

While the term is associated with low quality wine, Liebfraumilch is required by the German Wine Law to be one step above the lowest category, Tafelwein (table wine).

We got a bottle of Blue Nun in the fridge, but the icewine variety. The wife likes her sweet wines. Icewines (Eiswein) are particularly sweet because they freeze the grapes, which freezes the water but not the sugars and other solids, and concentrates it.
