    RT @scott_mcclain: @sdutChargers so as of right now, SD has a 1st, 2nd, 3 3rds (with one that could be a 2nd), 6th and 7th next year?>Yes.

Faneca refused to take a pay cut

Posted by Mike Florio on April 24, 2010 1:09 PM ET
As it turns out, guard Alan Faneca could have stayed with the Jets, if he'd simply been willing to reduce his salary of $7.5 million.

Per a league source, Faneca refused. And so he's gone.

The tampering rules notwithstanding, Faneca's agent presumably gauged the market to see if Faneca could get a better deal elsewhere. If so, look for Faneca to land with a new team soon.

They have two picks coming up too. The Vikings could also grab a back.

With all the GM's on this board we would have taken Cam Thomas in the 3rd. A.J. got him in the 5th.

Either AJ hit it lucky just as Carolina did by having a great player drop to the point you could snap him up or he knew Thomas would drop into the late 5th when everyone said he was going to be a second rounder and would be the third NT off the board after Williams and Cody
