love anthony dixon. But yea this game if I could watch it makes me feel like I would have no choice but to change the channel or go to sleep.
Any way to watch the game online? Not that I really want to, from looking at the box score, Volek is sucking it up again.
Nah wish i had a connect that could watch a link even, but im stuck with .com statbox. Which by lookin at the stats goin into the half, we are doin pretty good. SD SF 1st Downs 8 10 Passing 1st downs 7 5 Rushing 1st downs 1 3 1st downs from penalties 0 2 3rd down efficiency 5-8 1-5 4th down efficiency 0-0 0-1 Total Plays 35 27 Total Yards 201 170 Passing 157 90 Comp-Att 15-24 10-15 Yards per pass 6.5 6.0 Rushing 44 80 Rushing Attempts 10 12 Yards per rush 4.4 6.7 Red Zone (Made-Att) 0-2 0-1 Penalties 3-20 2-29 Turnovers 2 1 Fumbles lost 0 0 Interceptions thrown 2 1 Possession 16:10 13:36 Some bolded are glaring problems continueing - alot of the PSeason turnovers commin off Volek INTS But far as 3rd down D we statisticaly look great And still able to pass for a 1st. We also so far have maintained control of the clock. Rush needs more looks, Tolbert lookin good tho.
Thoughts so far: Either Mruck or Otterson (I don't think it's Stephenson because he's been playing almost exclusive on the right side tonight) have been getting abused by the Niners front 3 (Granted, I think they've got Sopoaga playing their 2nd string 0-Tech, which is pretty respectable for a backup). That's where those interior blitzes that have been owning Volek and Crompton all night have been coming via (the LG/C gap). Josh Reed, you sir are very, very much on the bubble. Buster had a solid first half, Jeremy Williams FINALLY shows up in a game and that should hopefully get him a PS squad spot... or he might have beaten Goodman out (though I think Goodman's got an edge as a gunner). I have a new reason to love Mike Tolbert... he sounds like freakin' Tone Loc! I don't know how Brinkley makes this team as a 4th RB, unless we roll with only one true FB in Hester and have Tolbert as a floater (Tolbert will still see touches), but Boonah Brinkley took whatever spot Shawnbrey McNeal had going into tonight. McNeal could still be a PS possibility. Brandon Hughes' hands haven't improved since he was at Oregon State... they were stone then and they're still stone (just slightly more smoothed out from high velocity balls polishing them as they whiz right through them). Given that Gregory and Oliver can also play some nickel and dime back in a pinch, I'm inclined to think the team may just carry more safeties than usual and just consider them utility DB's. Billy Latsko is as good as cut. We need RT depth. I would venture to say we need an RT period, but McNiell's holdout wouldn't be affecting the starting OL - or even really the OL depth much, if Jeromey Clary was even mediocre.
yea latsko is gone,s.mcneal is gone.goodman goes to ps.otterson is gone.b.hughes might be gone or just put on ps.
Not to worry, starters are intact and the guys that lost this game will be bagging groceries by Sunday. The last time our starters were on the field they went toe to toe with the world champs.
I just hope Matthews keeps getting better and better because I think Denver is going to give us a run for our money with Decker. I only saw him in a few college games last year, and since I'm a former Minnesotan I was hoping they'd win more. Decker was FANTASTIC and if he keeps up doing what he's good at he could be the ROY.
Guys who helped themselves tonight: Williams, Ajirotutu, Brinkley, Lang, Stuckey, Applewhite.....and Buster Guys who...well...are just guys: Hughes, McNeal, Crompton, Latsko, Epps (PS probably) ...and the "WTF" award goes to Billy Volek I fell asleep during the 3rd quarter...and I am kind of happy about it. Ugly, ugly football. Pick the final 53 and bring on KC!!
I'm actually a Decker fan (as much as I can be now that he's a Donko...) and I actually think he's got Ed McCaffrey potential for Denver, but I don't really see him getting the touches to contend for ROTY unless something significant happens to either Royal or Gaffney. McD's offense, when firing properly, will work a lot around swing-passes and working the middle with the slot receiver, with Gaffney running a lot of stops, medium and long outs, posts, and flags (essentially the poor-man's Moss role; with Royal in the poor-man's Welker role). Decker may become a popular red-zone target simply because McD (and Orton) don't utilize their TE's nearly as much as the Pats and Brady do... so the looks have to go somewhere... this is of course assuming Denver gets into the red-zone consistently against 1st-string defenses. Needless to say, I'm projecting Matt Prater as a Top 5 (realistically Top 3) fantasy kicker this year.
Watching replay on NFL Network, man Darrell Stuckey is not very good right now....at anything. If he starts over Gregory I'm gonna be pissed.
dude stuckey made alot of play last nights. had acouple tackle for losses.. and hes the one the helped siler get that pick
Yeah but by that time all the backups were in for both teams, I saw him getting flat out beat by that kid Ziegler and whiffing a few times on Anthony Dixon. There were a couple times where he should have shot up and made contact at the LOS, and he sat back and let the runner come to him.
im dont remember seeing ziegler beat him but i do remember seeing dixon just shrug him off...the person who let up the scores with ziegler was 26
Our asses got worked last night and pretty much the whole pre-season. The word is the Chargers are soft on the lines and can be manhandled. Don't try to sell me the vanilla cliche because Rivera dialed it up and crash boom bah. BEEF. AJ needs to get us some real freaking linemen. Now.
