Watching the the fans hit the exits early: PRICELESS. Wouldn't want to be in that parking lot right now.
Couldn't have said it better! A solid win coupled with the shots of the non-playoff bound Rat-turd fans streaming out of the Oakland Mausoleum put a smile on my face as our season came to an end. Call me a glutton for punishment....I am probably renewing my seats for next season!
Right now I am savoring the win and the moment. I get to call my brother the Raydur fan and wish him a happy new year. Then I will be ecstatic.
If Norv stays.....the Raiders won today. And if he's impressed by how hard they fought for him today, he should be asking why they weren't when we were 4-7. Nope, they played like a bunch of unprepared, undisciplined, brainless douchebags who on a weekly basis found new ways to steal defeat from certain victory. I repeat if Norv Turner remains head coach....the Raiders delt us a crushing blow today.
Dean "the buffoon" Spanos will bring them both back. If Norv was getting fired, it would be tomorrow morning.
It may yet be tomorrow. Acee's been more and more off lately in terms of the accuracy of his "insider updates." It used to be that I didn't want to believe he was right because I disagree with a lot of the stuff he was writing, now I'm starting to see the potential that Acee's golden ticket to being "Mr. Chargers Media" may be slipping out of his grasp.
Lets put it this way........ Acee is probably right that Dean would prefer to keep Norv, but knows that it would be extremely unpopular with the fans. Therefore, his move may be decided for him...... why he's a terrible leader.
I haven't yet done adjustments to how Week 17 affected strength of schedule, but as it looks right now we're picking either 17th or 18th depending on the result of the game still going on tonight (if Dallas wins we pick 17th as they've got a significantly lesser SOS than we did, if they lose we pick 18th). Edit: I'm sure some people will no doubt gripe at some point that today's win cost us 5 draft spots, well 4 or 5 - we would have likely been in a coin-flip with the Chiefs for the #12 spot (though it might have gone to us for playing - preseason - what was supposed to be a slightly less hard conference schedule).
If our reward for winning today is Norv comes back next year, I'd rather have let the Raiders make the playoffs today. I'd have watched in pure joy as their fans screamed and hooted and hollered about being back in 1st place in the AFC West, if only I knew Norv Turner was getting fired tomorrow.
It is always good to see the Bolts beat the Raturds. Especially as spoilers. Bottom line, we are an average team in a mediocre division...if we keep Norv and AJ that means mediocrity is all Spanos wants.
Thats not even what he wants, he just wanted to see the team "play hard" for Norv at the end of the season.
Love some of the early predictions in this thread. Boy does this fan base have heart .... and brains.
