Difference being, at least notably, and c'mon Conc I'd expect you to pick up on this stuff: In past years he could step up because Hardwick still had gas left in the tank and Dielman was still playing at a high level. This year, every interior lineman we have is getting pushed back on virtually every offensive snap like it was their job to do so. They're not even holding their ground and instead the pocket is collapsing in on itself. Kind of hard to step up when your OL is stepping back into you.
Rivers can still step up. To pretend he has no chance to make a play is just silly. If you want to wear Rivers colored glasses and blame the OL only, your choice but you are just fooling yourself.
Just threw my #17 jersey in the trash! Wow! Been a long time since I have placed our struggles so much on the QB. At the same time, I throw this jersey in the garbage with the head coach, the general manager and the the cheap *** ownership in mind. And yes people, this family are cheap asses and stupid! Same ****, every year after year. No Balls! They have never ever tossed it in. They have always aproached this team as a calculated risk. They do only what they what they thin they should but they have no clue about the moves they make in the off season. These owners place way to much faith on thier management and collect a profit either way. This "team" is going to be the end of them. And it sucks because they have a decent defense now and a special teams crew that has been much improved.
And THAT's why Garay hasn't been getting playing time this season. The rest of the DL has passed him by. Time for him to take the Hello Kitty car elsewhere.
Answered your own question. It's the same reason why there was a completely different standard in the Detroit/GB game (where Detroit was the home team) today for what was considered defensive holding/PI when the Lions had the ball versus when Rodgers was throwing. This league is turning more and more into business first and sport second, and the "media-darling" golden boys are going to get preferential treatment.
