Well, as glad as I am about this win, I'm under no illusions that we're where we ought to be as a team, or anywhere close. That was an ugly win against a crappy team, and we damn near lost it in the end anyway. We have GOT to pull our collective head out of our collective *** and play the kind of football we know how to play, or it's going to be a very loooooong winter.

    you know...
to an actual good football team, we would have lost that horribly...

If their defense was all injured and rookies and everything, and we only got 70 something yards.....

    well... make the guess...

I'm tooooooo old for these close games, I guess. I resorted to praying - and with that, both my teams won in the last minutes.

I agree with every word LG. There is no reason to think we're back. They've got to get to work on defense. We slid back into the same cruddy play calling and but for some outstanding individual work by Jammer and a few others, we would have lost this game.

On the other side of the ball, Rivers has to calm down again. It looks like he's losing his confidence again.

On the brightest side, we won. Nothing succeeds like success, so maybe they will build on it for next week.

Well, a win IS a win.

That was a bulsshit pass interference call.

BUT, the defense stepped up when they had to

    Props

    well.... that was scary

if i ever come across one of these refs someday I'm liable to punch 'em in the face - how many times is this **** going to happen?!

i'm so glad the D didn't let those bastards screw them out of another win - maybe that will help them find their heart. i hear that the fans did a whole lot of booing today - maybe that will help too.

all i know is pitt is going to be angry after their loss this week when the bolts come to town and a performance like we had today isn't going to cut it. so they will have to step it up.

Just finished watching the game I was watchin it delayed. Anyone know what happened to Cletis Gordon?. I saw him in civvies like Gregory during the game but the useless announcers didn't let me know what was going on.

I hate to say it but Cro sucks playing hurt. He should not be in there period. I'm tired of this playing off guys and watching them catch the ball.

Apart from the TD (yes that was a biggie) Jammer was nails today. So, where was the pass rush we all expected from Rivera?. Again little or no pressure on Thigpen just another QB who again looked like Joe Montana against this Charger D. Jeeeeeeeeeeeez.

Rivers will get over this and bring it in Pitt. Floyd is nails too, just throw it up to this guy, he catches freakin everything coming his way. Love him.

    I love the win.

Anyone else seeing Goff look like a turd at RG this year? He has struggled a ton, and this game was no exception.

Yep, been saying it for ages. I'd love to see what Mruc could do there. Heck even Forney would be an improvement. LT might see some daylight on the right side then. Forney excelled run blocking in Atlanta.

Another one who is not doing it, blocking wise, is Manu. He seems to be only giving 50% imho.
