Oh yeah .. I noticed ..

We need to win the next 3 games to get into the playoffs. If we are not 5-3 heading into the Indy game we are toast. The defense was still disappointing but coming along in certain areas. Jamal isn't as effective as he has been and the interior line is being moved. Castillo isn't playing so well. Merriman isn't playing like an all-pro. Cooper upped his play. Wilhelm is huge for our defense as Polk and Dobbins suck. Florence is a piece of crap as always and if he continues to play like this and Cro continues to play well I would expect Cro to be starting midway through the season. Once we show that we can consistently negate those quick passes the defense will be very good. That is up to the linebackers, pass rushers and the cornerbacks who need to break on the ball more quickly and learn how to bat down a pass from behind or time their tackles properly. It is one thing to shadow a WR when the ball is still in the quarterback's hands but the instant the ball is thrown is also a little too late, they need to anticipate where the ball is going half a second before the QB releases it and be quick in and out of their breaks.
