theres are some mock drafts who have us taking with the 18th pick Da'Quan Bowers De Clemson, which i am more than stoked about if he slides past the Vikings, Jaguars, and patriots. he could be a steal the more ridiculous one was the pick of Phil Taylor DT Baylor, ok so we go out and trade up for Cam Thomas last year and he hasnt got a chance to start, why in the world would we draft a DT with the 18th pick? Personally i think we should target these players in the first Da'Quan Bowers Cam Jordan JJ. Watt Aldon Smith Gabe Carmimi Tyron smith those are the only improvements we could see or even benefit from
Bowers doesn't fit the 3-4....... he's a "hand on the ground" 4-3 DE in the NFL. Jordan or Watt would be a much better fit for the Chargers. Don't know if either will be available at 18 though.
Bowers does play with his hand on the ground but he is a freak of nature he could easily destroy with our d line and line backing core, i dont care what anyone says he could play the 3-4, born and raised in South Carolina ive watched this kid play he has some mad skills. If he is there and we pass on him we're dumb as S H I T
Kid's got mad skills sure nuff, but he also has a knee with a good probability of developing permanent arthritis. No thanks.
Risk vs Reward my friend, i agree he does have knee problems but there are always health and off the field concerns, deion sanders had off the field problems and look at what his career was,Gaines adams had a enlarged heart sure it killed him but he was a beast when he played, percy harvin suffers from migrains and he is a prety damn good receiver, it can be over come
I agree, it's always part of the whole equation. But the risk on this guy is too big from what I can tell. Hard saying, not being a doctor. But I'd be damn scared to take him.
i mean id be alil afraid, but ive watched him player for 3 years, i think he can play despite the injury
Seeing how Merriman became a shadow of his former self after the knee injury, I'd say pass...... too big a risk for a 1st round pick. I still don't think he'd be a great fit anyway.
Look at it this way--doctors around the league are all gonna take a long hard look at the med report. Where he's drafted will tell you how the doctors assess the risk (or unfortunately in some cases, how ****** some team doctors are)
well anything is possible, we dont need him forever we just need those players who can help with the superbowl
