Chargers have until 1:15 Thurs. to sell 1,800 tix to avoid blackout. Not saying don't go buy some, but am saying game won't be blacked out.

I'm sure that as the time approaches, it will sell out. Too many Nordahoovians around these parts that might want to see their old team before they move to L.A. There's probably some Chargers fans that are moving with the usual casual lateness in buying tickets also. It's a SoCal thing.

Or it's a "I don't want to spend my money on another slow start, I'll save my money for later in the season" thing

It's just an observation, but this past weekend everyone around town was sporting Chargers gear. More so than the usual or occasional wearing of Bolts shirts and hats. It actually looks like the Bolts faithful are waking up to the fact that it's football season... Lots of Chargers flags flying on vehicles too.

And people wonder why the team might move. Pathetic.

Selling out has nothing to do with whether or not the Chargers leave SD. It all has to do with getting a new stadium. That's it.

Let's also note that those 1,800 tickets left are the WORST seats in the stadium... bad site lines/partially behind scoreboard/obstructed views. Our new stadium will cure this problem.

yep. its always the same number of seats that dont get sold out for every game. only people that buy those are desperate types who dont mind paying full ticket price to watch the jumbotron (guilty myself for a playoff game) and those who dont know better.

I don't go to games because I don't want to pay 9 dollars for a damn beer. I love the Chargers, but I'd rather sit on my couch in front of my HDTV, with a case of Corona, 10 feet away from my own crapper, with the ability to pause the game and do my own replays etc....

HDTV combined with the economy is why people don't go to games, not lack of interest.

we drink our own beer and use or own crapper at the tailgate if its and consolation. HDTV is only thing lacking but hopefully not for long. i do the pause and replay when i get home. nothing like being there IF YOU CAN. but i see how some dont like it. its not as comfortable as being at home thats for sure. but gotta support those bastards when you can. And by them i mean the ones in the lot making it possible. the guys on the field are alright too i guess....

I don't begrudge people for wanting to stay home and watch in the comfort of their own homes, I probably would too if not for the stupid blackout rules, but the possibility remains: Not enough people going to the games = blackouts = team says Fcuk this and bails on the city

Damn youd think at least the opener is a big enuff event that patsie fans will take the bullet and sit in those obscene seats...

Im sure this game sells out, but I can admit I wouldnt be surprised to see 1 or 2 home games blackedout this year.

I had season tix for 5 years until this year. made the drive down from Orange County didn't miss a preseason or regular season game. Furlough days finally took its toll. I know i'm not the only one that has gave up tix because the NFL is not going to drop prices to what the average working man can afford. Unfortunatly the games are a great luxury and now I'm going only to the Minnesota game so far.:(

2010 Season opener in KC ended up costing me $300. Endzone Section 39 Row 23... Not great seats now that I have sat on a YD line, but it was deffintaly alot for just a 6+ hour ordeal. Not to mention I only spent $13 total on a case of beer vs $8 per 12-16 oz cup.

In short, I agree that the NEW age of makin your TEAMs $$$ should be coming via all the PAY PER VIEW ticks that ar sold through Sunday Ticket purchase. Considering what ONE game costs to attend (150 miles of the team stadium) $300, the cost for Sunday ticket gets alot saner. I can remember when it was 80 and thinking YOU are NUTS Dtv!! Well whos the nutjob now DTV??? ermmm...

    BS!!!!!!!!!!!

    Its about support!

Why should they stay here, no one wants to go to the game. If it wasnt for the other teams fans buying up tickets, every game would be blacked out. Now why would an owner want to continue to operate like that when there is big bucks to be made in LA!

Wrong. The Spano's arent worried about the revenue from 1,800 unsold tickets.

No one wantd to go to the game??? 65,000 fans disagree with you. The Spano's have spent 10 mil to find a way to stay here and want to stay here.

The Spano's know that with a new staidum with better views, games will sell out.

It is obvious that fox does believe LA and O.C. really are not interested in the Bolts. As I have always believed.

I think the lockout taught all of us fans how we matter to the NFL.

Since the $ seems to be all that matters these days, that's what I use to cast my vote.

And would rather have every seat paid for by June 15th plus have PSL's or would you rather ask for an extension on the 72 hour sellout rule? And of those 65,000 how many are from the the other team?

Spanos is also smart enough and remembers days like the late 90's and early 2000's when they couldn't give tickets away. SD is a city that supports their team when they are good, and ignore them when they are not. The Chargers sell out now because the team is good. They will not always be good, and blackouts will increase.

Like I said... get a new stadium in SD, and all these problems go away. It doesn't matter how many fans are from the opposing team. Anyone in SD knows that San Diego is a melting pot of non San Diegans. Of course, they want to see their team play in SD. We aren't the only team with this problem by the way, Arizona, Miami, Jacksonville to name a few are other cities that are similiar to ours in stature of "foreigners".

The NFL is wayyyyy more popular today that it was in the late 90's.
