Its amazing how I fooled myself into thinking we may actually be descent this year after tearing up spring training, but the minute they went back to Petco its was the same old no runs, couldn't hit, stupid errors. Maybin is leading the pack with a .238 ave. No Bueno
Not that I'm holding my breath, but hopefully that 1 billion dollar TV deal they just signed can make 2013 an at least decent season.
They have a highly rated farm system for the first time in......ever. Hopefully that combined with the TV deal I just mentioned leads to a brighter future. I'm not getting my hopes up until this Moorad layaway mess is settled, though.
I am excited to see Weiland make his debut tomorrow, but damn was tonight even more heart breaking than our usual 4-1 loss
It's looking more and more like the Padres will soon be owned by the O'Malley family. For those that don't know, they are the former owners of The Dodgers. They owned the Dodgers when they moved to LA from Brooklyn and sold them to Fox in the late 90s, who later sold the Dodgers to the McCourts.
The Padres are close to locking Carlos Quentin up for 3 years. They have also been given permission (both by Moores as well as the incumbent owners) to extend Huston Street. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/j...n-on-an-extension-will-keep-him-in-sd-3-years I'm not sure what to think of this, honestly. On one hand, I like the mentality of building the team now. On the other hand, the trade market this deadline is kind of weak and they probably could have gotten a lot of value for Quentin and Street.
