If the pads win and the phils lose, dont the pads clinch atleast a tie for a playoff birth? and if the pads win, then there magic number for a playoff birth is 2?
Well, I lost the mlb.com feed for some reason, but I think this is one the Pads can keep in the bag!!
I was gonna go to bed but changed my mind... I feel it is my duty to stay up and cheer on the Pads....
She has been temporarily retired! :icon_wink: But the real Kim is still here! In case you don't recognize me...
Ok, just keep it together for a little bit longer... Then you can put this win behind you and focus on the next game...
Pads win 12-4!! The Magic Number is 3; any combination of Pads wins and foogin dodgers losses gives the NL West to the Pads!! Go Pads!!
lol...you're not that old! :icon_eek: Well status quo today...let's see what manana brings...:icon_eek: :icon_eek: :icon_eek: It's gonna be a foogin fight to the finish! Kudos for staying up Carrie! 46 runs between these two games...:icon_eek:
For another 44 minutes...:icon_wink: I'm ignoring the "old" reference lol...thank God it only comes once a year...
Basically for us to miss the playoffs the Phillies have to win the rest and the Padres have to lose the rest. And remember once the Phillies are out of it, the magic number for the division goes down by one because we have the tiebreaker vs the Dodgers. So even though the NL West magic number is 3 right now, we can still win the division as early as today (Friday). SO: If the Padres win and the Dodgers lose today, Padres win the division!
OK... This is the breakdown I've been looking for... It seems almost inevitable that we make the playoffs.... BUT... why settle for anything less than the pennant? :icon_wink: I say/hope we win the pennant, have home field advantage for the series with the Cards... Otherwise I think we'd be playing those Mets in NY and it will bring back horrible memories of the 1969 Mets. :icon_eek: :icon_eek:
Correctamundo!!:icon_mrgreen: We definitely wanna win the West, for alla the reasons you posted. The Pads control their own destiny!! So do the foogin dodgers, to a certain extent...if they keep winning, doesn't matter what the Phils do.
I think the Giants are gonna wanna be the turd in the foogin dodgers' punch bowl :icon_eek: :icon_mrgreen:  Go Giants (that sounds so wrong!!:icon_mrgreen: )!!
Clay Hensley, RHP (11-11, 3.73 ERA) vs. Livan Hernandez, RHP (12-13, 4.95 ERA) First Pitch - 6:40 Hensley's ERA for September is 2.67, and is coming off a 1.82 ERA in August. Go Padres!!
Happy Belated b-day KP! :icon_toast: All I have to offer are reps and they shall be forthcoming later. :icon_wink:
Happy birthday to you happy to you happy birthday to KP.............happy Birthday to you..............
