Defense wins championships guys. Our squad has the worst in the tournament. It'll have to change to Offense wins championships for the chargers to hoist a Lombardi this year.

Well, define "worst." The Chiefs, Patriots, and Packers all surrender more yards/game than we do. And the Eagles, Broncos, and Packers all surrender more points/game. I tend to put more stock in the latter.

This regular season, the Chargers have surrendered 21.8 Points/Game.

Last year's SB winners, the Ravens, gave up 21.5 Points/Game in the regular season.
The Giants, who won it the year prior, gave up 25 Points/Game in that regular season.
The Saints, who won the SB at the end of the 2009 regular season, gave up 21.3 Points/Game.
The first time the Giants beat the Patriots, they has been giving up 21.9 Points/Game.
When Indianapolis won theirs at the end of 2006, they had been giving up 22.5 Points/Game.

There have certainly been a lot of teams that won it with a much better defense than ours, but it also hasn't been altogether uncommon for teams with so-so D's to get it done.

    I hate cliches.

The only thing that wins championships is scoring more points than the other team.

Moneyline on the Chargers winning the Super Bowl are +5000 at sportsbook.ag

How do you not roll the dice and lay a measly 5 bucks on that? Just imagine that payout.

That stupid cliche? Really? Teams win championships. Plenty of teams with crappy defenses have won Lombardis.
