After one of the greatest turnarounds in NFL history, the Chargers saw no need to make any major changes. All 22 starters will return, and first-round draft picks Shawne Merriman and Luis Castillo might earn starting roles.
The Chargers excelled even though a groin injury hampered LaDainian Tomlinson for most of the season. He's 100 percent now.
Meanwhile, Philip Rivers, the No. 4 selection in the 2004 NFL Draft, is facing another season on the sidelines after Drew Brees' breakthrough campaign.
