It's funny how the Brees bashers are the ones that can't seem to let it go.

He's a Saint TM. I know its a bye week, but there is no point to this thread.

I think that Philip is more physically gifted than Drew, and I'm real glad we have him but you have to admit that he has alot more to work with than Brees does!

A.J. will be largely although not solely judged on how these two fare and to sweep it under the rug because Brees is now a Saint is ridiculous.

As of today's date, A.J. made the right move and I suspect this thread will grow to either support or refute but at any rate - time will tell.

No need to "let it go" so embrace the facts as they exist or is that too uncomfortable ? :bolt:

It just seems like you enjoy controversy. I highly doubt you'd be posting a "comparison thread" because of "AJ's reputation is riding on it" if Brees' numbers far exceeded Rivers' numbers after only the second week.

    It's just a tired topic.

And for the record... not that I should have to leave a disclaimer... I am happy Rivers is the starter for the Bolts. I feel that he will bring this team much farther than what Brees could. I have no ill feelings toward Brees though, and am thankful for what he did the last couple of years he was here.

I am not a Brees basher in the least.... but Im with Trumpie in that I think Rivers is going to be a phenom. I expect a passer rating in the 90s this year and a superbowl ring.... and then he is gonna be off the charts good afterwards.

It appears you are just too sensitive. Controversy ? I think you take this too seriously or maybe yourself too seriously.

The comparison should be made and will be made despite whatever invented misgivings you seem to have conjured up. :icon_shrug:

Anybody in their right mind will look at the deal and evaluate whether we got hosed so letting it go may be all well for you but not for all (it is a forum).

When we get the third round comp pick for Brees and how well he fares will add into the hopper as well so buckle up your seats for the comparisons or just buck the hell up.

There are new posters at this site who may want to chime in on a weekly basis to see or comment on a comparison stat of how well A.J. has done with the Rivers/Brees deal.

It seems silly AM gets bent on a few stats.

Stats are not the end all or tell all because at the end of the day, who gives us the BEST chance for a Lombardi ?

Now we get to see Rivers with the first team and his pass to Parker in stride was money. That was a pass Brees NEVER throws. Never.

And it will only get better as Rivers gets more time with the first stringers and live bullets.

Fans will now see passes I have been waiting for and biting a godddamn hole through my bottom lip because Brees could not deliver the goods.

Now is the time. Rivers has the better tools hands down and as the weeks progress - the bandwagon and believers will grow and claim all along that Rivers was the "Chosen One". :bolt:

    Rivers : 6'5" 230 lb quarterback with a rocket-lazer arm
    vs
    Brees : five-foot-nothin', 100-and-nothin'-pound SAINT !!

    Rivers is Number 3

    Brees is Number 15

1/8th of the season is in the books for 2006.

We have the Ravens and Brees has the Falcons.

It will get interesting real real quick. :bolt:

The only important stat for each is W. Seems they are even in that account.

Enough with the Brees v. Rivers sheet. Isnt three years of beating this dead horse enough?

As soon as some of you accept the fact that this compairison will NEVER END the happier you'll all be.

The second Philip Rivers was drafted by the Chargers was the second his and Brees' careers became intertwined. The compairsons will follow both their entire careers.

Hell, people still equate that ****** guy who wore #16 and will remain nameless with the Chargers, and he got cut 6 years ago.

Just accept it and STFU. IF you don't like the compairison threads, why do you even click on them?
