Gives a bit in weight to Watson, but from all accounts still a solid lineman prospect.

Armstead isn't a raw prospect, he is experienced and tough as nails. He needs to get stronger but he's a fantastic player. He'd sort of the opposite side of same coin in fluker. Based on that I'd go armstead over Watson but wouldn't be unhappy with either

I would be happy with Armstead at 45. I think we could wait on SS until later though. Maybe grab a CB first. ;)

I thought the same thing, especially the way the mock played out, Slay was sitting there in the 3rd

Armstead, Watson, Arthur Brown, Jesse Williams, Jamar Taylor, Te'o................... I'll take any of these guys at #45.

I really don't want Te'o. I am not a scout but I really was not impressed by him. Then add the media circus on top of it.

Id might be willing to give up a 4th (and maybe a 6th) to move up again in the second to land two of these prospects.
Armstead + Teo/ Slay/Lacy/Brown etc there's a ton of talent to be had in this round.

With the exception that I would be open to getting a Kings Ransom trade like NE always seems to pull and take some other teams 2014 picks that would be fine.

Speakin of, how many picks does NE have tonight? 4? Or is it more than that even.... Gotta wonder how many will be trade fodder and just how many players they end up drafting today. Im gonna bet on the avg 3 in spite of however many picks they have to work with.

I'm with you, but it would be nearly impossible (unless we can find a crazy GM) to make a trade to move up from our 3rd round pick into the second. The draft value of a top 15 pick in the 2nd is over 400 value. Our 3rd is 205 and adding everything from day 3 in (4,5,6,7) gets us to about 340 value. We would have to give up picks from next year and I really dont want to play that game. Now if we could move Meacham or Royal and our 3rd pick for someone's second, I'm totally on board with that. Or even Clary and our 3rd to move up. Totally on board.

Every day for them is a day at the beach, even when they get taken out for a dip in the hot tub or some time in the sauna

I don't think we need an ILB anymore, we've signed DJ Smith, I really like him. With Donald Butler, DJ Smith, Jonas Mouton, and Andrew Gachkar I think we might be able to avoid and ILB until 5th and later.

I'm praying Terron Armstead is there at 45!

I think you're overrating DJ Smith pretty heavily. ILB is still a need, but there are a number of guys who can be had on Day 3 that can actually step in and be starters (not fantastic starters right off the bat, but functional and dependable starters).

DJ Smith may or may not be healthy for this coming season, we can stash him on the IR or waive him like GB did.
Saturday can be ILB day, look at all the surprising players to fall so far and with only one QB, 3 WR's and 4 CB's off the board.

Imagine who else is going to fall once they do start coming off the boards.

I wouldn't be surprised if Watson and Armstead are still available in the 3rd But I have a feeling guys like Bostic, and Alonso will be there for us in the 4th

Wow, our first OT taken from Arkansas Pine Bluff since......Courtney Van Buren.:roflmao:

I would be happy with the pick regardless, and to be honest I don't see that we have a choice but to go LT now even if Carradine, Te'o, Taylor or Williams is there.

I don't think Alonso makes it out of Round 2 and I'd consider us exceedingly fortunate if he's there in Round 3. Teams are showing far more willingness to gamble on other factors (injury history, character, raw) for athleticism, which Alonso certainly has on a number of the other ILB prospects.

As far as round 2 goes....I could see the Lions, Bengals, Cardinals, Jets, and Bills all being in the market for an OT.

I'd be astounded if Watson or Armstead is on the board when we pick, but you never know.

I know LT is still the HUGE need but damn if arthur brown is there when we pick in round 2 idk how we could pass him up... been following him since high school and I could see him being a patrick willis type of mlb

Don't know about Willis, but he compares really favorably to the other SF ILB - Navorro Bowman.

Either way I really love Browns combination of Athleticism and Power but most of all hes an impact guy who makes plays for loss not one of those guys who just rack up tackles 5 yards down field (Te'o)

As I said on the BT draft show, this pick should be as close to BPA as we can manage (not confident that's what TT will do, but it's what I'd do).

    My board right now is:
    1. Arthur Brown
    2. Tank Carradine
    3. Geno Smith
    4. Robert Woods
    5. Jonathan Cyprien
    6. Keenan Allen
    7. Jamar Taylor
    8. Darius Slay
    9. Terron Armstead
    10. Jesse Williams
    11. Menelik Watson
    12. Johnathan Banks
    13. Jonathan Franklin
    14. Markus Wheaton
    15. Kevin Minter

    ^^ Should note, that's BPA.

Based on what TT did in round 1 id expect him to take for need again in round 2 and fine I can understand it just because of how terrible the offensive line is but if we keep reaching for need in round 3 and on im gonna be real concerned with what the TT era will be like

I think it can very well be any of these players, I think Nassib, Barkley, Ertz, possibly Moore and Okafor all find their way into the top of this first half

Gonna be interesting to see. Thus far, his draft has been far more like a guy who learned at the heel of Ryan Grigson (i.e. similar to Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia front office which has, up until this most recent year were always need-based drafters) than Bill Polian (Polian himself says he sees no value in spending 1st round picks on guys who don't rush the QB, create turnovers, or put points on the board).
