I put about as much weight in what Kaplan says as I do Acee.

Yeah way too early to make that prediction, we can't even guarantee that Spanos will get over his dilusion long enough to fire Norv and AJ yet, much less that he has a replacement ready.

Only a nearly complete rebuild. The defense needs to be overhauled completely. And the offense needs a complete overhaul in depth

Screw the big names. I want Chuck Pagano, the Ravens DC. Replace AJ with a spastic chimp.

Would we even be able to attract any good coaches at this point? Especially with AJ in the mix? We would just get some other lackey that he can push around.

I agree! It's gotta be a package deal. You fire Norv, AJ has got to GO! No decent HC would work UNDER him. I think I read somewhere if they fire the "dynamic duo" it would cost the Bolts 12mill. Well, the first step is usually the hardest.

    I don't see why not.

It's not as though AJ's had trouble getting along with Norval, so why should another potential head coach think there'd be strife?

That being said, I'm all for canning AJ now as well.

As long as AJ is the GM, I wouldn't expect a tough minded, opinionated coach to be be named coach anytime soon.

I am more than willing to bring him back, but up the majority at this point.

DL: Thomas, Martin and Leugit(just a rookie) can stay. LB: Phillips, Butler, Barnes and Mouton (again, rookie) can stay. Secondary: Weddle and Jammer(move him to safety) can stay

Heck, they would probably lose more than that if the duo stays and all of the season ticket holders start dropping off.

I am canceling my tickets FOR SURE if Norv and AJ are not fired. Basically, that is the only way I can speak my mind to our douchey owner.

And it's really the only way you should.

Anything else is meaningless chest-beating fluff.

UUUHhh....Hellloooooo? Where is the team going to play next year? Who will be the coach and GM is a second thought on the owners plate. They've pulled the wool over the fans eyes. Squeezed us

Oh yeah, there's that whole stadium thing as well.

I'm still a fan if they stay the "Chargers" no matter where their home games are.

If they strip their identity I'd have to think about it because it'd feel like I'm rooting for a new team anyway if it's the LA Torros or something.

I felt the same way- let them bottom out. Peel the onion completely and make the tough decisions.
But this feels different now. Let the blackouts begin. There was an ugly vibe leaving that place. The Baltimore Colts had somewhere to go. At least the Chargers don't. For now

    Dislike.

It was NEVER about B4L being right or wrong. If I hi-jacked EVERY single thread with a never-ending plethora of posts proclaiming that the sun will rise tomorrow, I'd eventually be banned as well.

Agreed, but the highlighted are depth/backup/role players, at least at this point in their career

    Make it 2.

AS ETicket said, it wasn't about his opinion. It was about his constant harping on it in EVERY thread he dove into.

Whatever about the Kaplan rumour you really have to look at the well run consistent organisations for the exec position. i.e. AJ's job. I don't want Cowher at all though. He is past it and took forever to get it done. Why can't we find/go after the next Harbaugh?. And someone who knows how to draft. No more wasted picks, no more ridiculous reaches.

Agree. We need to go after a Sean Payton/Mike Tomlin type of young unknown coach that can bring in a different mentality, philosophy, and attitude

NO, it was never his point of view, it was his constantly hijacking every thread with his mantra.

The chance for a playoff spot might be over but there is a lot of football left. Spanos should work out one of those top secret back room deals with Cowher and Omar, let them evaluate what they have in player's and build a new coaching staff. As soon as the season ends, jettison both AJ and Norv and let the new crew take charge. Let it be known that all positions are up for grabs and any player that feels he isn't up to the task give permission to work out the best deal he can elsewhere on approval by the Chargers and "git er done".

I dont know that we need a complete rebuild. We have peices in place that we could advance with, if they were sourounded by the right suporting cast. However, I dont see any REAl changes happening as long as Dean leaves the teams fate in AJs hands.

I love hearing rumors about Cowher, that guy kicks ***!

I'm on the Winston Moss / Dom Capers with him as DC bandwagon though, that'd be cool with me all day long.

But to be fair, any reasonable head coach and any semi decent DC would be cool with me right now, as just about any respectable HC would be a giant upgrade over that humungous pussy we have now.

I vote for signing Phil Jackson, he can run the triangle offense. Super Bowl for sure.
