Let's get this started early, who is coming to this tailgate and game? How many people are you bringing with you? We are open to food ideas, offer a suggestion and we will see if we can do it. Hope to see a lot of you there. Go Bolts!

    Pointy :helm1:

P.S. Be prepared for loud, obnoxious fans, who brag about owning Super Bowl rings... (Reminds me of another team from the East Bay)

Really want to make it this week, but I don't know if I can swing it - might be a "game-time" decision :p

IF I can I'll bring a little something to share for sure.

One more thing, we need as many vehicles parking under the bridge as we can, and we will need to line them up like they do in the rest of the lot. They (City of SD & Ace Parking) want to try and curtail large groups taking up space that could be used for parking. They want us to seek a permit to create an official tailgate zone that we would have to pay upwards of 200 bucks just to party, on top of what they are already charging for parking. Of course, then we would get the support of the folks at city hall and Ace. The city of San Diego is also cracking down on "illegal bathrooms" ie: unless they belong to United Rentals, and they have stated that they will be taking them off the property. I am in contact with some of the key folks involved with this, and they might be enforcing this today. It's not like they are trying to take away one's right to tailgate, but they want us to comply with old rules that until the last game against Houston were mainly not enforced until there were a number of incidents involving police and irate fans who complained about private bathrooms being on city property.

Holy crap....that's some freak'n full of fail'n BS right there.
F'n cry babies complain about private bathrooms but don't wanna pay for the convenience. The F'n city wants to control and get payed on every aspect of tailgate experience.., and then they wonder why they can't sell out games....F'n greedy pieces of sheeot......they're make'n it easier and easier to stay home and watch it on TV.  :poop:

Wow... that is some ****** news Pointy - thanks so much for taking the lead on things - is there anything we can do to help? Like contacting the city and voicing our thoughts (politely of course - more flies w/honey than vinegar and all that)

I don't tailgate much, and I've never stopped by your particular shindig, Pointy (someday, though)
but I do admire you for going to all this trouble, and being willing to deal with the surprising level of bureaucracy
involved, to bring Charger fans together. I'm more of a loner, myself, but I respect the Hell out of your efforts. Rock on.

I have some names, and I strongly suggest that members call in to the Chargers organization customer service, to Ace Parking, and to the City of SD (stadium office) to see how to make a tailgate experience more pleasant. Also, if anyone has Mike Turko's number, this would be a perfect opportunity to get the media involved in the people's cause. All we want is the right to party the way everyone else does. We can no longer be an organization, we must be individuals in this matter and find reason to be within compliance, yet keep our identities.

And for the record, we were told that we were going to be shut down by the folks at Ace Parking, just as we were breaking down our tailgate.

Pointy, tell 'em a bloke from Australia will be there in 2 weeks time to kick some arse if this isn't resolved in your favour.

Fargin' Bureaucracy stickin' their unwanted noses into trivial matters, surely they have something more important to worry about than a crapper on public land, what the hell is the world coming too ?

Hope this can get taken care of Pointy, was planning on attending for the Monday Night Colts game with Pumpkin and Charger Diva and also the Donko's game in Nov ......

Hahahahaha, well, it has gotten slightly larger since my move there back in '10, we can blame that on LA I do believe, 30-35 lbs in about 3 months scared the livin' :poop: outta me, especially seeing as I'd weighed roughly 155-160 for 30 odd years straight and could eat anything, anytime.

Anyway, more importantly, how you doing ?...............all go well with the Op I hope.

You getting to any of the games while I'm in town ???

    Turko Files hotline 858-571-FILE (3453)

I'll be sure to reach out to the Chargers, the City of SD and Ace this week. Also mention it to an acquaintance of mine who handles the stadium set-up (turf and inside stuff but he might have some ears he can bend or get us in touch with)

It's bad enough that ACE gouges us for parking and does a ****-tastic job at directing traffic as it is - I'm so glad they feel the need to ruin the tailgating experience of fans who spend a good amount of hard earned money to attend the games and have for a loooooong time.

Are they pulling the same crap with the Bolt Pride guys? I know they have a pretty good sized tailgate but I've never been by so not sure what their set-up is like... maybe if they're doing this to others as well we can band together?

That sucks to hear. Hopefully all the bureaucracy doesn't stop this get-together, because I would like to make it back to SD for another tailgate and game (or 2) in the near future, maybe late next year.

I seem to be alternating trips for different sports, but I love the city of SD and want to get back there ASAP. Plus you guys were the best when I was at the tailgate.

^^^ Yes, they went after Bolt Pride and shut them down too. They also took their toilet away from them in the morning, right after the Bolt Pride boys dragged their toilet all the way across the parking lot from where the Ace Parking people were hiding them. And Bolt Pride has found a way to be in compliance by partying behind their vehicles in the parking lot...
