First Game Pitching Matchup: SD: RHP Clay Hensley (9-11, 3.83) Hensley won his last start after going 6 1/3 innings and allowing two runs at Cincinnati. ARI: RHP Livan Hernandez (12-12, 4.98) The right hander has a 2-1 record over his three September starts, along with a 2.78 ERA. Scouting Report: Hernandez only gave up three hits through seven innings to the Nationals in his last start on Wednesday. He ran into some trouble in the eighth when he gave up three straight hits to score a pair of runs. The veteran right-hander was charged with two runs on six hits over eight innings for his second straight dominant outing. He did not walk a batter and recorded five strikeouts. Hensley is coming off another excellent effort against the Reds in Cincinnati on Thursday. The sinkerball artist went 6 1/3 innings, surrendering two earned runs on five hits while striking out a career-high seven and walking three. Since July 18, covering 11 starts, Hensley has yielded 18 earned runs in 65 2/3 innings for a 2.47 ERA. His biting slider has been a solid complement to his bread-and-butter sinker. Player to watch Mike Cameron has belted three home runs against Hernandez in his career, and is hitting .318 (7-for-22) against him in his career. And I'm off to the game! Wait a minute, Cameron has now hit FOUR home runs off Hernandez in his career! Great game, a little bigger crowd than expected(expected 23K, got 25K) The team didnt seem phased at all. Didnt come out flat like some predicted. Rome today was saying the Padres were basically done. I am glad he was full of shte. Boomer Wednesday!
