...and says, "We need you in Cleveland on Friday." I say, "No problem as long as you don't mind me sticking around until Sunday night." So my flight is booked, anyone else going to be there? Any tips on eats? Should I get tickets ahead of time or just scalp? Dawg pound or no? Let me know your thoughts or just wish me luck. Should be a good way to wash the bad taste of the bye week out of my mouth.
Well, that's the only way I'd allow myself to go to Cleveland, AKA, "The mistake on the lake". Hope it aint't too cold. As I say to all Charger fans who go to a vistitors stadium: GO LOUD, GO PROUD!!!
She offered no "other" perks other than a chance for you to watch the Charger game ???? Hmmmmm, me thinky she took advantage of your good nature.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Should be fun. If anyone has any angles or knowledge about second hand tickets there, let me know. I can't decide if I should go stub hub (~$150 for front row Chargers sideline or $40 for upper deck junk) or if I should just wait for scalpers at the game.
Here's my take: How often do you get to do this? If you do this sort of thing frequently, then go for the cheap seats. But if it's once in a blue moon, then I say go for the GOOD seats on the Chargers sideline.
Nice one... Have a word with Alex Mack, I know he is keen to get back to CA, tell him we'll give him a shedload of cash to come home.
Why are they sending you to Cleveland? Are you meeting with a client? If so, take them to the game and write it off as a business expense.
Thought about it... but we are in the medical device industry and that stuff is SUPER regulated now-a-days. Plus, if I was with a client I would have to show a semblance of civility.
That doesn't make any sense. It's a business, and shouldn't be treated any differently than any other business. I can understand the products being heavily regulated, but why are your business practices with regards to customer service/client relations being treated/regulated specially?
Damn you, OP. When I read the topic title, I thought this was going to be one of those Letter to Penthouse things. In all honesty, have fun and represent out there. We need this one bad.
Dear customer, I will buy you a membership to the Cottonwood Country Club if you buy my inferior product which may not be in the best interests of your patients. Signed, How we used to do business. Its a major hassle, but I know why its there. I can't even give people a stuffed animal at a trade show anymore. ANYWAY, I'm here. Downtown is dead on a Thursday night. Going to find somewhere for some good grub, brew and the football game. Met a couple people on the plane that told me to hold out for cheap tickets on Saturday. Basically, they said their friends at work would laugh: "What?!? You mean someone wants to BUY tickets?" So I think I'll be fine. If anything exciting happens between now and Sunday, I'll post it up. Otherwise, look for me representing in the Dawg Pound.
My dad, father in law, and brother went several years ago. Wife and I had to cancel last minute. Anyhoo... They hit a Browns game and also went out to Canton for the Football HOF. They said the highlights were (in no particular order): Football HOF Cleveland Fans (Game) Little Italy for the grub Strip Club that my brother found Bring back pics and your full review please.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Can't say I had the best Sunday. Got soaked to the bone in both clothes ans spirit. My phone is having problems connecting to the computer, so no pictures for now. I'll post one up a little later when I'm less depressed about this team/train-wreck.
