The Chargers will reportedly interview Cardinals VP of player personnel Steve Keim for their vacant GM position this week.
Shame on the Cardinals if they let Keim get away. A former on-the-road scout, Keim is viewed as a big personality with an impressive resume as a talent evaluator. Current director of player personnel in San Diego, Jimmy Raye III, is also viewed as a top candidate for the Chargers GM job. The Bolts were denied permission to interview Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell for the position -- reportedly at Russell's own request.

Definitely doesn't look like they're just going to hand the job to Jimmy Raye, and I give Spanos credit for that

Doesn't seem there just gonna hand Spanos the job next year by signing the next GM to a 1 year deal or so.. Looks like they plan on keeping this GM for 2+ years and I like the sound of that. For once, sounds like the Chargers are doing something right.. so far.

I also don't think that they would hire Ron Wolf as consultant if they were just going to give Jimmy the job for a year to hand over to young Spanos.

Actually, Dean stated yesterday that his son will never be GM. He said his son will take his job down the road, will not ever be GM, at least that is what I saw yesterday

Sounds like The Wolf knows what he's doin', not that Deano will actually listen to him in the end.

Not sure about this Keim guy, the Cardinals have failed in epic fashion when it comes to evaluating talent on...THE OFFENSIVE LINE.

Are you saying they are getting interviewed, or should be interviewed?

Keim is a well respected guy and widely expected to be a GM somewhere in the league next season.

Maybe Jimmy Raye denied the Chargers an interview too...
