Thanks for picking the right team, thats for sure. We could have just ended up with the Cardinals late 3rd round pick and I'd have been fine, but this is soooo much better.
I came home and checked NFL.com to find out that Charlie signed with the Hawks and we swapped 2nd rounders and got a 3rd rounder in 2011!!!!!!!! I'm so fricken happy i'm going to go make a mock draft now!!!
hey...if his draft picks work out good this year and we make it to the Superbowl...I'll change my spots on AJ...till then.. hes overated!!
I just checked some of the Hawks' blogs and apparently there are mixed feelings about the trade. A lot of people think that it was a big price to pay for Charlie but some people say that a second round pick is a cheaper price than a 1st round pick for an unknown QB. I really think we lucked out with this trade
That trade is a great deal. I am very surprised, but stoked. Thanks AJ. Now it is time to turn those picks into great players
Can you only imagine the Holy Hell when Charlie wins the Super Bowl next year. :icon_eek: I'm only having fun. :flag:
AJ just dealed our 3rd string QB for the 40th pick overall... ya that move sucked.... Ok, he has had some questionable moves but, I look around the league and think, we could be in a way worse position. look at the Raiders staff, that organization is screwed for a while... AJ is very good at what he does. I am glad we have him
Wow, that is a shockingly good trade. Well done AJ. Wouldn't package the 28 and 40 to move up for Spiller though. We need bodies on both sides. They can move up either of those two picks a few ticks as needed to get the guy they want with one of next year's third rounders.
Nice move with Charlie. Now let's see what he does with the pick. I'm not over Hester yet. And the jury is out on Buster, at best. I could go on. I'm not anti-AJ, but his piss still belongs in a toilet.
If Hester and Buster are the worst AJ has done then he is one of the best GMs in the league. THe draft is a crap shoot, not a science...
It may be a crap shoot regarding that there are no guarantees how a player will translate from college to the NFL, but it's FAR from being a crap shoot with regards to who you target for your team. If that were the case, why would teams spend the millions of dollars & countless man-hours scouting & building a draft board? :icon_shrug: I'm still not giving up on Buster. If he can stay healthy, he has the potential to help this team quite a bit. Hester just isn't a good fit & AJ gave up too much for him. He talks of not playing heavily in FA because he doesn't see us as being only a player away from a championship, yet gives up picks to reach for this guy? Granted, it's not a deal breaker on whether or not AJ is a good GM, but it was a very poor decision.
Wow, Whitehurst got himself an $8 million dollar contract for holding a clipboard! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5005254
Consider the fact A.J. got Volek for a 6th round pick and Volek could start for any team and is arguably the best back up QB in the league AND We just got what amounts to a second round pick in draft value (swapping 2nds and getting next years 3rd) for a 3rd string QB who was drafted in the 3rd round. Someone on the Hawks board calc'd out the draft value and we got what amounts to 270 draft points or a bottom of the 2nd round pick in draft value.....for a 3 round pick in Charlie. A.J. is the second coming of you know who.
Two words on the Whitehurst trade-brilliant trade. The move puts us in a position to quality at both RB and NT.
Does anyone else find it hard to believe that we got more for a third string QB than a starting corner? Im just saying it seems messed up to me.
